Peshawar project quote is for a metro train and bus service, combined. Secondly, it will be investor funded, not taxpayer funded. It will not be built on the whims of a king or prince as in Punjab. It will be built based on proper feasibility studies.
As for Islamabad, the government’s motives are pretty clear in the way they have conducted the project. Islamabad citizens have largely resisted the scope of the project. Yet the govt started work on it even before EPA approval. The fact that a person like Hanif Abbasi has been left in charge of the Pindi side solely to prop him back up politically is shameless to say the least.

$630 million dollars is only for the Rapid Bus Service Green Line..

Metro Train Red Line will be a separate project which KPK hopes will be funded by World Bank..

They are giving 2017 as completion date. Let’s hope if they can complete these projects by 2017.. Failure to do so will result in big electoral loss for PTI in KPK. To achieve the target PTI leadership must find some spare time from their rallies and dharnas. At present in one year they were not able to complete feasibility studies. The financial close will depend on viable plan.. otherwise the project will get delayed.
