Yup so we can define these words and can easily understand Hindi and Urdu.
There are lot of similar words and then there are different words with similar meaning like khwab or sapna, soch and vichar. I think vichar is also used in punjabi. I heard it used in a song in the movie Bol.

we are talking about the similar words but with different words like 'r' 'Z' but we used both words in Urdu Khawab and Sapna, in Urdu we use words Soch-o-Bachar, but vichar is purely Hindi word i think

I have lots of favs each good in their area. I like the classical poets like Mira bai, Tulsidas, Kabir and others like Nagarjuna, Mahadevi verma, Amrita Pritam who is known on both sides of border because she also did Punjabi poetry. She wrote a poem called "Ode to Waris shah" due to her sadness at the massacres of partition. I also like Javed Akhtar's poetry and Harivansh Bacchan.
Abdul Rahim Khan-Khana wrote hindi couplets on astrology during Mughal times. He also translated Baburnama to Persian. I think classical and modern poets mentioned above are covered in syllabuses but i think the focus is on poets who were active during freedom struggle.
The above are Hindi poets but i think well known Urdu poets are also covered. I know Iqbal wrote lot of great poetry as well. Saare jahan se acha is a beautiful poem..my fav line is "Mazhab nahi sikhata kisi se bair rakhna"

I just read that he translated Baburnama. Maybe he translated to Hindi. Haan woh to hai ab to poetry forum pe post karna hoga. Lekin main Pakistani dramas ke saath bewafai nahi kar sakti. Aur culture forum bhi pasand hai. Din mein zyaada gante hone chaiye jaise har jaga post kar sakhein.
Mujhe Urdu parhne aati bhi nahi hai ..lekin ek din khwaish hai ke Urdu aur Sanskrit dono seekhna hai. Hindi is easier than Urdu and Sanskrit.

yeh theek rahega. Main sirf asan hindi parh sakti hoon. Uske baad mujhe Nani se translate karana hoga. My Nana ji wrote lot of hindi poetry when he was alive jo ab tak publish nahi hua. Ek din umeed hai woh sab parh payenge

I only remember a few lines from an urdu poem by Parven Shakir, an urdu poet and also a civil servant in the Government of Pakistan. I don't think this can be called romantic but it is about breakups.
Kuch to tere mausam hi muje raas kum aye,
Aur kuch meri maati mein baghawat bhi bahut thi.

Thanks for sharing. DO you know of any good Hindi poems? Any time of poems? What are your fav poets and what poets do you learn of at school? As someone living in India you can give Muqa bhai and others a better idea than me.
