Muqa bhai gave me this idea so i’m posting an inspirational and famous poem by Hari Vansh Bacchan, father of Amitabh Bacchan, who was a poet. It mentions Sindhu/Indus river which also flows through Pakistan. This poem is for all those who are trying to achieve their dreams and who never give up.
Lehron se Darkar nauka par nahin hoti,
koshish karne walon ki haar nahin hoti
Nanhi cheenti jab daana lekar chalti hai,
chadhti deewaron par, sau bar phisalti hai.
Man ka vishwas ragon mein saahas bharta hai,
chadhkar girna, girkar chadhna na akharta hai.
Akhir uski mehnat bekar nahin hoti,
koshish karne walon ki haar nahin hoti.
Dubkiyan sindhu mein gotakhor lagata hai,
ja ja kar khali haath lautkar aata hai
Milte nahi sahaj hi moti gehre paani mein,
badhta dugna utsah isi hairani mein.
Muthi uski khali har bar nahin hoti,
koshish karne walon ki haar nahi hoti.
Asaflta ek chunauti hai, ise sweekar karo,
kya kami reh gayi, dekho aur sudhar karo.
Jab tak na safal ho, neend chain ko tyago tum,
Sangharsh ka maidan chhodkar mat bhago tum.
Kuch kiye bina hi jai jaikar nahin hoti,
koshish karne walon ki haar nahin hoti.
I heard he advised 'Amitabh bachan' ke agar kamyabi ka darwaza na khule to deewar phalang ke doosri taraf jana chahiye.
Thanks. pata nahi like button kyon nazar nahi aa raha ..i would have liked this response.
so if you're not successful go on other side of wall? interesting baat hai. It took long time for Amitabh to be successful so hopefully this poem gave him some motivation.

Another poem i like is called Agneepath written for the period of freedom struggle/Independence. I had to read the translation to understand all the words.
Vriksh hon bhale khade,
Hon ghane, hoh bade,
Ek patra chhah bhi
Maang mat! Maang mat! Maang mat!
Agneepath! Agneepath! Agneepath!Tu na thakega kabhi,
Tu na thamega kabhi,
Tu na mudega kabhi,
Kar shapath! Kar shapath! Kar shapath!
Agneepath! Agneepath! Agneepath!Yeh mahaan drishya hai,
Chal raha manushya hai
Ashru, swed, rakt se
Lath-path, lath-path, lath-path,
Agneepath! Agneepath! Agneepath!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Agneepath – English TranslationEven if there are mighty trees all around you,
Let them be shady, let them be huge,
But, even for the shade of a single leaf,
Beg not, beg never, ask never!
The path of fire you shall tread! The path of fire! Yes, That Path of Fire! You shall never [TIRE

You shall never slow down,
You shall never turn back,
This oath you will take today!
This oath you will fulfill in your life!
Take this oath!
And walk the Path of Fire, every single day!
The oath of fire! Yes, That Path of Fire! What greater spectacle,
Than to see such a man walk,
Who in tears, sweat and blood,
Is soaked, covered and coated;
And still walks on in the Path of fire!
Walks the path of fire! Yes, That Path of Fire!
there is this poem called tum mujhe pukaar lo jo thoda romantic hai.
Mujhe Pukar lo
Isliye khadaa rahaa
ki tum mujhe pukaar lo
1
Zameen hai na boltii
Na aasmaan boltaa,
Jahaan dekhkar mujhe
nahiin zubaan kholtaa,
Nahiin jageh kahiin jahaan
na ajnabi ginaa gayaa,
Kahaan-kahaan na phir chukaa
dimaag-dil tatoltaa,
Kahaan manushya hai ki jo
umiid chhodkar jiyaa,
Isliye adaa rahaa
ki tum mujhe pukaar lo;
Isliye khadaa rahaa
ki tum mujhe pukaar lo!
2
Timir-samudra kar sakii
na paar netr ki tarii,
Vinasht swapn se ladii,
Vishaad yaad se bharii,
Na kool bhoomi ka milaa,
Na kor bhor ki milii,
Na kat sakii, na ghat sakii
virah-ghirii vibhaavrii,
Kahaan manushya hai jise
kamii khalii na pyar kii,
Isliye khadaa rahaa
ki tum mujhe dulaar lo!
Isliye khadaa rahaa
ki tum mujhe pukaar lo!
3
Ujaad se lagaa chukaa
umeed main bahaar kii,
Nidaadhh se umeed kii,
Basant se bayaar kii,
Maruusthalii mariichikaa
sudhaamayi mujhe lagii,
Angaar se lagaa chukaa,
Umeed main tushaar kii
Kahan manushya hai jise
na bhool shool-sii gadii,
Isliye khadaa rahaa
ki bhool tum sudhhaar lo!
Isliye khadaa rahaa
ki tum mujhe pukaar lo!
Pukar kar dulaar lo,
dulaar kar sudhaar lo!
English translation- attempt from website. mera nahi hai.
Call out to me!
I stood there, that you may call out to me!
Neither the earth speaks nor does the sky
The world, on seeing me, does not open up (literally, is tongue tied)
There is no place where I was not considered (counted) as a stranger
Where have I not roamed, searching (/ feeling / groping) with my heart and soul
Is there a man anywhere who has lived without hope?
With that [hope / reason] I persisted, that you may call out to me!
I therefore stood there, that you may call out to me!
The dark sea could not surpass the depth of the eyes
[Eyes] laden with vanquished dreams, [eyes] filled with vast memories
did not get the [meaning] of earth, nor the clarity of morning (need help translating this line)
The bereavement filled separation could neither be cut, nor be diminished
Is there any man who has not felt the scarcity of love?
Therefore I stood there, that you may embrace me!
Therefore I stood there, that you may call out to me!
I have now associated the hope of bloom with bleakness
I had blemish-less faith in the arrival of spring breeze
The mirage of the desert seemed like nectar to me
I have torched [burnt to embers] my hope for the [morning] dew drops
Is there any man who has not been forgotten, with the passage of time?
I stood there, that you may uplift me!
I stood there, that you may call out to me!
Call me and embrace me! Embrace me and uplift me!
In Hindi you don't have word "Ray" ? So that's why use Padhta ?
I am no expert in Hindi but my nani taught college level hindi. i can find out more. I know we have word for "dh" sounding like r which is different to the "raa" for raat. This is used in words like padhta hai.
