A very new trend I found in Pakistani society . Husband with a girlfriend and his wife knows about her . She even helps him buy gifts for her and all those cheesy cards and stuff . The guy doesn’t seems to be ashamed for it , and neither his wife is bothered . Rather he pretty much talks about it openly .

Btw its not the first time I came across a situation like this . I am not sure , but it doesn’t seems normal . Isn’t it ?

His wife trusts him alot i think..sweet relationship they both be having

Notyhing sinister here as a guy and a girl can be just friendz and couple can have a common friend.
May be she was friends with him before he got married and they remained friendz.
Its quite Ok to have friendz who are of opposite gender and it does not equte as cheating on your supose.

Ok here is the situation and how I came to know of it . The guy having a dardhi and have like 2 kids I guess . He was telling me something about his 'friend' and how he went to some market to buy cards for her with his wife . I found it strange and I was like 'I hope bahbi doesn't mind it' , and he was like 'no no she doesn't mind . I talk to my 'friend' on phone in front of her and she helps me buy gifts for her too' . I never asked him anymore questions after that .

I do understand that a man and a woman can have a platonic relationship but means talking on the phone and buying gifts and all that . In Pakistani society its as good as smooching in public . And yup having 'friends' on the side is quite IN these days .

Reading your original post, I got the impression that the husband is having a sexual affair with the girlfriend and the wife is ok with him. But reading this, it sounds like the husband has a female friend and the wife is ok with it. If this is the case, then I don’t think it’s “strange”.

Do you have any reason to believe that the husband is having a sexual affair with the female friend?

Well if you are living in America then yup its totally kosher and I won't have a problem with it . But here in Pakistan , its different . Don't you think so ? Is it not natural that a wife would be jealous ? I don't know but it just doesn't seems right .

I know someone kinda in a relationship like this and the wife only lets it happen cause she knows that if they are not married, the gf won't have a child, and if she does the family won't accept the child because of what others will say, but if they get married and have a child, the child will be accepted and get part of the property/money.

^ Yara I can understand that if the wife doesn't have any clue about the nature of relationship between the other lady and her hubby dearest. I don't think anyone, be that a man or a woman, has the tolerance or sense of humour about their partner cheating on them. Buying presents for the person your partner is cheating on you with, naah can't be possible.

Maybe its a psychological thing like however much the guy flirts with other pretty girls, he still has to come back to his wife, to “her home”. Maybe that makes her feel better about herself that whatever the guy does he’s still under her control. You should ask that wife of you friend about exactly why she does this, her reasons should be very interesting or might be even entertaining
