A very new trend I found in Pakistani society . Husband with a girlfriend and his wife knows about her . She even helps him buy gifts for her and all those cheesy cards and stuff . The guy doesn’t seems to be ashamed for it , and neither his wife is bothered . Rather he pretty much talks about it openly .
Btw its not the first time I came across a situation like this . I am not sure , but it doesn’t seems normal . Isn’t it ?

so he's having an affair, like sleeping with this girlfriend and his wife knows about her? or is she just a girlfriend he hangs out with, it is possible for a man and woman to be just buddies you know :p
but man if he's having an affair with this gf, then his wife must so very intensely love him to go along with it.

i haven't hard about husbands having girlfriends but, i have seen husbands having moo boli bahen (not blood sister) . which i find to be weird. it's a ticket to talk on the phone for hours while the wife is cooking. and a ticket to hang out with the bahen alone. and to openly flirt with them at dinner parties. i guess pakistanis have change the word girlfriend to moo boli bahen, to make it halal. lol.

haha. That is so true for the Pakistani society. Lots of past flames are kept alive in the guise of moo boli behen or moo bola bhai.

Or maybe the marriage was arranged and the couple is "husband" and "wife" in name only (ie. no romantic feelings/sexual relations between them for whatever reason) and divorce is not an option because of family.
At the end of the day, with married couples we only see what they choose to present to the world. No one really knows what goes on behind closed doors.

meh, as long as the wife, husband and his lil gf are all happy in this circle of love, I see nothing wrong with it, it's their issue. i mean even if the wife has totally given up like Deeba says, she's probably thinking atleast her husband is honest about it. we're looking from outside in, maybe the husband is a much better husband to his wife now that he feels guilty about the whole gf thing so everybody is content now....yay!
the gf is the one losing out here since he's still married to his wife who probably gets all the expensive guilt gifts :D

That's crazy. I have seen people with "moo boli bahen" (spelling?) but they treat them just like they would their own sister. There is no flirting and never 1 on 1 time, which is inappropriate.....I mean the one I know they practically grew up together....so its all good.

In an open relationship such as this...Ive noticed both husband and wife are free to cheat.
Maybe she also has someone but just isnt as open about with people.

Ok here is the situation and how I came to know of it . The guy having a dardhi and have like 2 kids I guess . He was telling me something about his 'friend' and how he went to some market to buy cards for her with his wife . I found it strange and I was like 'I hope bahbi doesn't mind it' , and he was like 'no no she doesn't mind . I talk to my 'friend' on phone in front of her and she helps me buy gifts for her too' . I never asked him anymore questions after that .
I do understand that a man and a woman can have a platonic relationship but means talking on the phone and buying gifts and all that . In Pakistani society its as good as smooching in public . And yup having 'friends' on the side is quite IN these days .
