Because then, what you would earn would be exactly what it would be if you were not working, or stopped working. This is a very similar problem to time-travel paradoxes.
How do we verify, unless you know exactly how much you were meant to earn? You need to exist oustide of time for that luxury...

What guarantee do we have that you didn't put yourself in that position? God allows you to sin...your behavior is not confined to natural laws or some animalistic behavioral order.
Entrapment...or passing the buck? :)
