i have no doubt, mohemmad was a very very very clever man who seiged power, and ruled like a ceasar and a pope ...i agree with the writter irrespective of his religion.
however, i have more respect for buddha and mahavir who were born kings[ceasars]...but left their riches and comforts to serve humanity.

"It is impossible for anyone who studies the life and character of the great Prophet of Arabia, who knows how he taught and how he lived, to feel anything but reverence for that mighty Prophet, one of the great messengers of the Supreme. And although in what I put to you I shall say many things which may be familiar to many, yet I myself feel whenever I re-read them, a new way of admiration, a new sense of reverence for that mighty Arabian teacher."
Annie Besant, THE LIFE AND TEACHINGS OF MUHAMMAD, Madras,1932, p. 4.

rehman1: Please, if you can fit all of yoour responses in one post. There is no need to reply 3 times to the same post :)
soul: It wont hurt you to have some respect for our Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) as well. There are books written about his life by non-muslim authors as well. I would suggest Karen Armstrong. Also Prof. K. S. Ramakrishna Rao doesnt seem to imply that Mohammad (pbuh) was a dictator or ruled like Caesar or Pope. Read the paragraph again and dont confuse your own personal feelings with what the author has said.
