Kids Funnies Thread

Re: Kids Funnies Thread

Today during phonics, we were learning the sound 'oa' but with the 'aw' spelling, so words like 'paw, lawn, shawl'

I asked them for examples.

Example No.1 - oh no

I clarified that the words 'oh no' did have the 'oa' sound, but it wasnt the same spelling pattern.

Example No. 2 ' Oh dear me'

Clarified once again, emphasis on the 'aw' spelling pattern.

Example No. 3 ' I've got a really good one Miss Milly; 'Oh my God'

Miss Milly's repsonse, 'I think I shall quote you here and say ' OH MY GOD'

At which point I couldnt help but laugh. Needless to say a 15 min lesson turned into 35 min lesson.

I was being observed by 2 trainee teachers too, such fun!

Re: Kids Funnies Thread

^i wish my kids had a teacher like u

Why, because my kids are thick and don't learn from me? :(

I wouldnt change them for the world. I love how they notice everything, they are forever spotting my writing mistakes on the board, I tell them i'm testing to see if they are doing good looking and if anyone ever spots a spelling error, they get a special sticker!!! hehe!

Some of them even start every sentence with 'Miss Milly, you know how you are Miss Forgetful, well...' and then they remind me of something I said I would do.

Re: Kids Funnies Thread

^no bcoz u seem to explain so well

Re: Kids Funnies Thread

You have to if you are working with 5-6 year olds. I treat them like little aliens, who do not know anything, yet have the verbal ability to say everything!

Re: Kids Funnies Thread

Nadia has a habit that whever she gets a new pair of shoes she will wear them next day to school. I was telling her these shoes don't look good with school uniform and she shud wear school shoes. She replies, "aap ko nahiN achhey lagtey tu aap na dekhaiN"

:omg:

My 17 month old niece has a habit of calling any young child she sees 'baby', even if they're much older than her. So yesterday whilst shopping we heard a loud baaaaybe, we look around to see who she was pointing at, and it turned out to be a short old lady who was passing by. The lady stared for a bit proabably in shock, and then walked away without saying anything. We didnt quite know where to look.

Re: Kids Funnies Thread

nice thread.
I have one, my daughter was learning twinkle twinkle and she had just managed to learn till 'what you are'. So one day i am doing my namaz and she is constantly climbing on the sofa nearby. All through out the namaz i am sort of distracted and am thinking of breaking it handing her over to someone else and repeating. Thats when i hear a loud thud and then complete silence , so even in namaz i sort of unconsiously wait for a wailing sound or something and finally a sweet small voice comes

"twinkle twinkle little star".

i say my salam ,turn around and she is flat on her back and singing to the stars she has jsut seen.

Another one is where she is repeating sentences and learning how to talk. So she hears the phrase "jao dhoi ker kay ao (go clean up) when ever she maeks a mess. So one day she is playing with her grandfahter and he passes wind and she stops and looks at him sternly and says jao dhoi ker kay ao (go clean up).

Re: Kids Funnies Thread

when my brother was 2 years old he was learning how to speak…we have many male cousins so everyone was saying to call them bhae…and he found it easy and then he was calling everyone Bhae…even to my dad…then my mom said him say papa he said papa..but when ever he want to call my dad he goes like bhae :omg:..:omg:..:omg:..

LOL,my dad was like who the hell teach him this word :omg:..then again we say him to call papa he say papa but again whenhe wanted to call my dad he say Bhae :omg:.

aahmad, we have those urdu qaedas at home, u can get them from any urdu bazar in pakistan, we bought them from there, each night my daugther lies next to me and reads those qaedas with me or her dad and she has almost learned the whole urdu alphabeth by heart, anyway its so fun to read with her:

there is a pic of a open egg (andha) and she sees it and says ... "andha tooth gya" or there is a pic of one leg, she asked me "doosri taangh kahan hai??"
and then points to her leg lifts it and says, "here is it" LOL

then we were doing the english qaeda, she saw a bicycle and I say, its B for Bicycle and then we come to M for Motorcycle .. she goes .. "aik aur cycle " .. kinda like rolling her eyes.

really so fun.

typical ammi fashion went on to finish my namaz :hehe:

Re: Kids Funnies Thread

It was 10-12 minutes to iftaar and my son was getting really hungry. Every minutes he was asking "roza kab khuley ga". My wife tells him, sit down and pray to Allah, at this time Allah accepts whatever you ask for, and he immediately says, Ya Allah, roza abhi khul jaye.
