The last soft toy my mum ever brought me was a LaLa. Yeh, ok so I was 16, but still. I love the Teletubbies!

Okay I admit that Teletubbies make some of the best stuff toys cause they are cute… but the show :smack: and especially when they put their hands on their hips and thrust their pelvic forward before their tummy TV starts receiving signals .. man that is so rude

TLK, I can so totally relate to what you're saying. I grew up with roadrunner, bugs, tom-n-jerry and the "little rascals" which has been pretty much outlawed because it was so very racist. The violence in all of those, compared to the "dora" type shows of today is incredible. Yet I am not racist, nor am I violent.

As a youngster, my parents had the first color tv on our block, so we were very popular with the kids in the area and we watched constantly. Nowadays, all you hear is how very bad it is to watch tv.

IDK...I see the outrage people express about this. Then I look back at the things I watched when I was a kid....the 3 stooges doing the "double-eye poke" and the "cranium slam", the little rascals excluding the little black kid from certain things cause he's an african american...Popeye fighting with Brutus over Olive Oyl. Roadrunner escaping Wily Coyote;s suicide bombing attempts.

Its incredible, looking back, at how much violence and inhumanity I was exposed to. And how very protected children are these days from all of that. And still...I think that my generation tends to be a more peaceful and peace-loving lot than those who are coming up in this current generation. Just a casual (and perhaps misinformed) opinion...

Just shows that getting too politically correct is not the answer to the worlds problem. In fact you probably produce weaker human being when you do that too often.

Tom and Jerry - I didn't want to watch it but my siblings did, I found Jerry (the mouse) EXTREMELY ANNOYING and i wanted Tom (Cat) to catch Jerry and squash him flat forever.

Road Runner - HATED him and wanted him killed immediately. Watching that cartoon was torture for me. I believe i should sue the makers for psychological distress.

I was and still am a Disney person.. all the way. I grew up watching all the fairytale cartoons and occasionally Tom and Jerry which I LOVED! My most prized posession is my Cinderella dvd.. oh man, the day they announced they were re-releasing it in better color and all about 3 years ago, I was in heaven. When I went to buy it at the movie store, the guy asked me if I was buying it for a little sister or cousin.. and I said NO, IT’S FOR ME. He didn’t bother asking again when I went back to buy Cinderella- Part 2

Shay, the original Disney stuff has always been good, the fairytales etc.... I think most of us here are talking about the other shows that are coming up like Hannah Montana and stuff. The Cinderella etc are definitely fun.

Yeh man, original Disney all the way! Im still afraid of watching the scene in Snow White when she goes off into the woods...its soo creepy...all the noises and shadows! My 6 year old cousins holds my hand everytime we watch it :D

DisneyLand Paris is amazing for all the fairytale stuff, the parade song is the most fun iv ever watched in my life!

New Disney, as in the movies are still pretty cool ( Toy Story, Nemo!) but the T.V shows are a JOKE!

HM and all the current shows are crap. I saw my little cousins watching it and I said ok, let's see what this is all about and omg, it was so annoying. Now some high school musical is out as well and all the boy girl stuff they showed in it should be off limits for the kids.
Fairytales are the best.

lolz…I was only joking, the reason why i hate teletubbies and boobahs because they’re just weird. (Sorry Milly, just my opinion)
I’m not familiar with little rascal and other cartoons you mentioned, I remember watching Care Bears, Smurfs, Captain Planet, Denver the last Dinosaur, Duck Tales, and few others and my hubby’s favourite Voltron, Cities of Gold, Dungeons and dragons, Inspector Gadget…

I buy dvd’s from amazon for my kids to watch as we haven’t got a TV so they watch these shows instead.
Honestly, I don’t like the present cartoon shows for example Recess, Aurthur (is okay), sponge bob square pants, Wiggles etc.

My husband brought these cartoons “Dennis the Menace” and children loved it and so did I. :slight_smile:
I’m looking for series 2 to buy on dvd.

I have to agree that the Boobahs were indeed FREAKS!! At least the Tubbies knew how to speak!
