iPhone 5 on Verizon has an open (unlocked) GSM slot. You can put in AT&T, Tmobile or any other SIM from around the world (cut into the right size ofcourse) into that phone and use it.

I don’t know what it would do if you kept both Verizon and ATT lines active and if they would work concurrently or not.

GSM service will always take presence over CDMA. as soon as you put it a sim it will turn the CDMA off and Try to run with GSM.
