Kiddy Lingo

Its so cute how kids originate their own words for things. Whats cuter is they way they come up with them. Just thought I would share how my neices coined certain words.

A blanket is called ‘ducky’. The eldest of the three came up with the word when she was an only child and successfully passed it on to the younger two. Her blanket had a picture of a duck on it and my sister was teaching her that its called a duck and in ‘laad pyaar’ she must have called it ducky and thats the story of how a blanket got named ducky!

Lotion is called ‘adaa’, again a term created by the eldest. My sister had given both her eldest and second born a bath an gave the elder one some lotion to apply. She poured too much in her hand and said, ‘adhaa behn ko de dau’ (give half(adhaa) to your sister). Her daughter thought lotion is called adhaa and eversince they call lotion adaa.

Ruberbands of any kind are called ‘booboo’ according to my youngest niece who was then probably one and a half or maybe two years old. In the movie ‘Monsters Inc.’ the little girl is called Boo and she always has two ponytails, somehow rubberbands get named booboo since boo has two ponytails.

They are so cute

Re: Kiddy Lingo

My cousin lived next door to this lady who used to cuss. He was saying b*cd at 1.5 - and everytime theyd take the kid into respectable society he’d always casue a

Re: Kiddy Lingo

Oh this is the funniest...my younger brother when he was around 3-4 yrs old and we lived in Pakistan. He had a friend across the street who was named Usman Chowdhury his family always called him by his full name and if anyone asked the kid what his name was he himself would say they full thing too. So my brother who used to lisp at that time and was a little 'totla' couldn;t say the kids name properly. One day while they were both playing on their terraces my bro decides to give him a call. At the top of his voice he shouts 'baan taudee'. Us kids at the time coudln;t figure out what he had said but all the elders of the family just kiled themselves laughing when they found out.

ANd thats how Usman Chowdhury got changed in to a curse word.

Re: Kiddy Lingo

Re: Kiddy Lingo

lol. Its too funny I tell ya. My nani and dadi, God Bless them both, could never stop laughing at it once they started.

Re: Kiddy Lingo

My cousin also calls me bahbai - and mimi. He calls downstairs "lai" and phone "oh".

he calls all female girls "baby"

if a girl calls - and he picks up he goes "mai teek hai, mama teek hai, nana teek hai, boor (suboor) yuck tho hai aap tee hai? Haan. no JEE. lee (police), boor? haan"

decipher that. :p
