But do you think that people consider all these things while spending. If they think over such matters, we don’t see extravagance. People in our part of world probably spend out of compulsion (including show off), but people in west also spend beyond needs at occasions like at the time of bumper sales during Xmas, etc.

over spending in the west is more like a habit and social trend which is not entirely needless. people wait for sale to go on or buy in bulk for future use. it’s hardly ever for show-off here.
