directed by: anjum shezad (aka bobby of family front) written by: hashim nadeem (based on his novel khuda aur mohabbat) cast: imran abbass, firdous jamal, farah shah, sadia khan, salman shahid, ahmad jahanzaib, khalid butt.
and its a javeria-saud production
just saw the first episode and i am neither too impressed nor disappointed. what was going to happen in the first epi was predictable and rest of the drama is kinda predictable too. i thought some of the things happening in the drama were kinda exaggerated but i was told by someone that its does happen in high society, still its unbelievable but anyhow i didnot enjoy the first episode for me its an ok drama and i will watch the rest of it to kill the time. (everyone is acting nice so far)
nice to see anjum back to direction after kismat (geo tv).
and have seen farah shah after ages. she has gone even fatter but she looks nice and the role suits her.
and i was surprised to see ahmad jahanzaib in the drama…second time i am seeing him in a drama…the look suits him.
anjum bhai's direction is always good.
the first episode was kinda filmy like we see in our old pakistani movies poor family, rich family. lets see how it goes. I love the title track, its awesome and well sung by ahmed jahanzeb.
Its a JJS production so ahmed jahanzeb has to be there
i skimmed the novel and it turned out that he wont gonna marry this girl. instead he will write a paper on holocaust and becomes famous and a jewish girl will fall in love with him who later convert to Islam.
lets see how this drama projects the actual novel.
ps. i think this novel got pride of performance or some honorary literary award and it is being translated in english. i read few pages and its very romanticized.
well if it was shirk, it wouldn't have got Pakistan's most prestigeous civil award "Pride of Performance" the islamist groups would have slaughtered the guy who wrote it.
after seeing the lead pair hanging out in a Mobile commercial, the girl covering herself from head to toe just looks so fake to me. J-S must have drugged Anjum Shehzad to make him direct something for them lol.
I also did not like the beginning of the episode where they were cutting night club music in between the Azaan. There was something very wrong with that IMO.
Plus these days I'm not too happy with Geo and they giving preference to Indian shows over Pakistani programs.

Its translated in ENglish? Can I get a hold of it? :O
ps. star of david on the book cover made me skimmed the novel, otherwise now i take ages to finish one page. my speed is like one page in three minutes. :bummer:
hmm acha :)
I think I'll give it a miss .. I'm a bit reluctant to watch it because its a javeria saud production and you know their dramas go on forever hehe lol
not too bad not too good. i'll say its watchable...good time pass. (well my opinion is only based on seeing the first episode)

the 3rd epi was pretty good. Imran Abbas is actually doing well.
Right now it's pretty much the rich boy-poor girl story. Not sure if they'll move beyond that.
