I notice every now and than some one talks about the Khilafat movement in GS.
The Khilafat was based on the premise that all muslims want to be united under one banner.
In todays day and age, Muslims all over are different from each other, with different languages, traditions, culture, race, beliefs, even in their interpretations of the Holy Quran.
Why can’t people move on, and accept this truth.

Interesting observation. Care explaining a bit more as to why you came to the above conclusion?
And what exactly is "khilafat"? Any definition? Because through almost all the history, people who reigned as khalifah were just monarchs.

There might be a Khilafat in the wake of a nuclear holocaust. There'll be like 10 muslims left in the Ummah and they might say: "since there's only 10 muslims left in the Ummah, why not form a Khilafat."
Also works if you substitute nuclear holocaust for giant asteroid.

Throughout most history, khilafat has been nothing but another name for monarchy.

These people are enemies of democracy and support religious dictatorship. Many consider democracy kufr, and anyone supporting democracy a kafir and worthy of getting killed. And then they think such action would be completely Islamic and anyone disagreeing with it is ... again ... a kafir.
This is just one aspect of the gruesome "khilafat" they believe in.

hmm if its so dead why American has to shift its army to the muslim world to prevent the resurgence call for unity and islamic state. Europe have many different language and traditions they have EU, china has over 1 billion with many languages and cultures why they still united as one?
the only thing dead is democracy and secularism especially in the muslim world where it is on life support machine waiting for someone to switch it off.

Seems the non-Khilafat movement people are making this into a bigger issue than it really is.
