Yes, Kashmiri pandits are an important part of Kashmir and unfortunately they have been forced to leave their homes and live the lives of refugees by people who were once their neighbors and friends. Its pathetic that you think the way they have been treated is somehow justified.
Hopefully, its only a matter of time before Article 370 is repealed and Indians from all parts of the country are allowed to settle down in Kashmir. Demographics will no longer be an issue after that.

If the people of Kashmir truly want to be part of either the Pakistani or Indian union the ballot will indicate so. If they do not want to be part of any external body then it is their absolute natural right to govern themselves. Any military intervention beyond this point is should be considered an invasion.

Azad "Kashmir" was carved out of the Jammu region...the people speak Potohari/Mirpuri and Pahari, not Koshur.
The people of Kashmir would prefer independence in some ways...but if it came to only two options, Pakistan would certainly get the nod over India and the raping, killing army.
Maybe Azad Kashmir was carved out of Jammu but there are many people in Kashmir valley who are linked by relation and culture to Azad Kashmir.
