Kasab belongs to Pakistan, says Nawaz Sharif

**Islamabad, Dec 19: **Challenging President Asif Ali Zardari’s assertion that there was no proof that the arrested Mumbai attacker Ajmal alias Kasab hailed from Pakistan’s Punjab province, former premier Nawaz Sharif has said that Kasab indeed belongs to the country’s Punjab province and that Pak Army must admit its role in terror.

"I have checked myself. His (Ajmal Amir Iman alias Ajmal Kasab) house and village has been cordoned off by the security agencies. His parents are not allowed to meet anybody. I don’t understand why it has been done," Sharif, who hails from Punjab, said in an interview to Geo News channel.

“The people and media should be allowed to meet Iman’s parents so that the truth could come out in the open,” he said, adding that “We need some kind of introspection.”

Zardari, who earlier acknowledged that the perpetrators of the Mumbai carnage could be ‘non-state’ actors from Pakistan, has now said there is still no “real evidence” that the terrorists who attacked Mumbai came from Pakistan.

“Have you seen any evidence to that effect? I have definitely not seen any real evidence to that effect,” Zardari told BBC in an interview this week.

Pakistani security agencies and local officials in Faridkot have launched a cover-up since India made it public that Kasab belonged to the village in Punjab province and his father acknowledged to a Pakistani newspaper, that the gunman captured in India was his son.

Sharif also slammed Zardari’s rule, saying the functioning of the current Pakistan People’s Party-led government is making Pakistan look like a “failed state”.

Pakistan presents the picture of a failed and ungovernable state due to the absence of the government’s writ and the country urgently needs a new roadmap to pull it out of the problems it is currently facing, he said.

The PML-N chief said the dictatorial rule of former President Pervez Musharraf had made the country ungovernable.

“Since 1977, the army has ruled the country for more than 20 years… A state subjected to frequent military intervention in politics can only become ungovernable.”

He said India should have shared intelligence about the Mumbai attacks with Pakistan instead of approaching the UN Security Council.

Sharif also criticised what he described as the government’s “clarifications” regarding the purported violation of Pakistani airspace by Indian fighter jets.

Noting that Pakistan was getting isolated in the international community, Sharif said there is a need to find the root causes of terrorism. He also condemned Zardari’s reported statement that US drone attacks in Pakistan’s tribal areas would continue.

The government should make it clear to the US that such attacks went against the country’s integrity and would not be tolerated, he said.

Though the PPP-led government had been in power for ten months, there was little hope of any improvement in the affairs of the state, Sharif said, adding that it was up to the nation to decide whether to make Pakistan a failed state or a successful state.

Sharif said the PML-N wanted an independent judiciary and the repeal of the 17th constitutional amendment, which gives the President sweeping powers, including the ability to dissolve parliament and to dismiss the Prime Minister.

The PML-N will pressure the government to implement the Charter of Democracy, which according to him, was the “will” of slain PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto. Sharif and Bhutto signed the Charter in 2006 when they launched a joint movement against Musharraf while they were both in exile.

The Charter envisages wide-ranging reforms, including the scrapping of the President’s powers, making the judiciary independent and clipping the powers of the military.

chor chor mausere bhai :hehe: Zardari was looking for proofs so they can destroy every single proof with the support of his intelligence agencies, is that so bacho?

Re: Kasab belongs to Pakistan, says Nawaz Sharif

Nawaz sharif who talks about the army rule...oh right the same Nawaz Sharif who was puppeted my Mr Zia ul Haq!

Here we go again. So what if he was nurtured by Zia-ul-Haq. He is now real leader of Punjab. Why do you close your eyes like ostrich to the truth that retard Kasab belonged to Punjab? How would you handle this menace if you don't accept where the fault lies? I have yet to understand the mentality of denials?

Re: Kasab belongs to Pakistan, says Nawaz Sharif

^^ The only mentality behind this continuous denial that would make any sense is that these people are just defending the terrorists because they still want to follow the old policy of harboring terrorists to have them attack India. They are completely ignoring the fact that these jihadis are hurting Pakistan a lot more than they are hurting India.

Nawaz Sharif is a retard.. he can say anything fter lassi and sri paye..

And I am from mars....

Re: Kasab belongs to Pakistan, says Nawaz Sharif

Sure, Nawaz is lying, Geo is lying, Dawn is lying, Ajmal Qasab's parents are lying, the villagers caught on hidden camera are lying, the foreign reporter who photographed the electoral rolls are lying.

The whole world is lying. This is all a conspiracy to malign Pakistan.

^^ You said it

Let's get over this denial thing. But we don't have to be on the defensive because we most certainly do not (well hopefully most of us don't) share the ideology of these retards. This was a brazen act of cold-blooded murder. Such twisted individuals/groups need help

Re: Kasab belongs to Pakistan, says Nawaz Sharif

What will happen if Kassab actually found to be Pakistani national ?

If he indeed is a Paki national then he will be handed over to 3rd party investigators and India will push as hard as it could to parade him in front of the international community... But unfortunately India's evidence is as good as they always were all like samjotha express.

Re: Kasab belongs to Pakistan, says Nawaz Sharif

but this times it seems that all 10 belongs to Pakistan :smokin:

Sure, everyone knows India has falsely accused ISI or Pakistani elements in the past. Everyone knows how India finds "ID cards" conveniently pointing to Pakistan. We can bring up Samjohta Express accusations too.

But this time the whole world is agreeing with India. Heck the UN Security Council agreed, including China. Day before yesterday, EU representative was in Pakistan and he publicly rebuked our foreign minister saying that clearly the Mumbai attack had Pakistan connection.

If we try to cover up obvious and universally agreed linkages, then we will have no credibility when we deny something again. Time for us to come clean. Let media interview the guy's parents and tell them how jihadi groups brainwashed the guy.

The jihadis are our enemies too. While LeT may not be involved in attacks inside Pakistan, other groups use the same methods to brainwash Pakistani kids into becoming suicide bombers.

Re: Kasab belongs to Pakistan, says Nawaz Sharif

Its because i know LeT , its HQ in Lahore/Muridke and thier ideology against India :smokin:

Re: Kasab belongs to Pakistan, says Nawaz Sharif

Here is the difference b/w India and Pakistan.

Indian minister asked for the inquiry of Kurkery's murder, he was made to resign within couple of days although he only asked for the inquery and there is nothing wrong in it but BECAUSE elections are near and minister off course belonged to ruling party, congress can not afford such statements

Now come to Pakistan. Elections are more than 4 year away and NS is not in Govt so he has nothing to loose by such statements. Pakistani public k memory is so weak they will not remember this statement in 4 years. NS has not learned a bit from last 8-9 years. He is back to dirty politics and just trying to create more problems for Govt (any way he can) although he may be right and there should be an inquery but when you have held a top post like PM of country in Past, every word you say matters.

If they are indeed from pakistan...then punish them...they SHOULD be punished!

All im saying is people like Nawaz should refrain from talking about generals when he himself has been linked with a certain general himself....no not Zia...Musharraf...after all Nawaz only made Musharraf COAS coz he didnt think he would cause problems for Nawaz...hence thats why Musharraf accompanied nawaz when they went for umra.

Anyway going back to the original topic if these animals are pakistani then they should be punished.

Agreed. We ought to learn some "nationalism" from the Indians. As you said NS may be right, but he ought to be diplomatic in the statements.

If you read the full interview, he is asking Indians to share the intelligence with Pak. Offcourse Indians won't go in that direction, but they sure will toot the horn about Ajmal Qasab.

Obviously if he is asking Indians for sharing evidence and investigations then he is pretty much on the same lines and Prez. Asif Zardari.

NS all in all is a spent kartoos just like many other politicians and leaders in Pak. It is time they all retired and let the new generation (and not just their sons and daughters) of leaders to come up and run the country. Our politics is a cesspool because people refuse to move on.

And no such statement came out when a budda anti-islamic president refused to vacate his seat.

This is why half knowledge is bad.
Congress in ruling Maharashtra and Center, they are waiting for an oppertunity to pounce on BJP. They got it with the melgoan blast. Nobody in power in center or state would have wanted Karkare to be killed. If it was the police job then you should also know that the City police commissionr is a Muslim.

Re: Kasab belongs to Pakistan, says Nawaz Sharif

^ Knowledge & conspiracy theories don't go together...

Re: Kasab belongs to Pakistan, says Nawaz Sharif

But you guys have to admit that Karkarey's killing was suspicious. I don't think that the hotel attacks were done by extremist Hindus but the killing of 3 top police guys investigating Hindu terrorist groups at a random location seems suspicious.
