Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

Relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan are spirally going down day by day. Today on American broadcasting media Afghanistan’s Karzai blamed Pakistan for harboring and training terrorists to create havoc in Afghanistan. Today 100 were killed by Pakistan trained terrorists, he says.

It is sad that India is building schools and hospitals in Afghanistan and Pakistani madrassas are training students to burn schools…

Afghan President Hamid Karzai says Pakistan is training militants and sending them into Afghanistan, but he says Pakistan should realize it no longer has the power to control events in Afghanistan.

Mr. Karzai was speaking Thursday to tribal elders and officials in the eastern province of Kunar, which borders Pakistan.

The Afghan Islamic Press news agency quotes Mr. Karzai as saying Pakistani intelligence ISI gives military training to people and then sends them to Afghanistan with logistics. Mr. Karzai also said Pakistan must realize that the influence it used to have over Kabul is a thing of the past.

**

Pakistan, which is battling Taleban and al Qaida-linked militants on its side of the border, has repeatedly denied that it helps the Taleban. On Thursday again, a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman rejected Mr. Karzai’s remarks as “false and baseless” and said Pakistan wants to see a stable Afghanistan.

But a senior U.S. security official said recently that Pakistan is not doing enough in the war on terrorism, and that militant sanctuaries on the Pakistani side of the border have to be dealt with.

Mr. Karzai also described fugitive Taleban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar as a coward who is hiding in Pakistan and sending youths to kill Afghans.

**

The Afghan president also accused madrassas - Islamic schools in Pakistan of urging students to go to Afghanistan to burn schools and clinics

Re: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

:rotfl:

And I suppose Pakistan is killing its own soldiers too and pretending the Taliban killed them?

Afghanistan’s government is known to consist mainly of the Pakistan-hating Northern Alliance. It’s entirely unsurpising that they would put Karzai up to saying this rubbish.

I said that before and i will say that again, this beghairat shameless ehsaan faramosh is on a mission these days, his bakwas in increasing day by day. He is holding Pakistan responsible for EVRY damn thing (getting worse than even India).
Burn schools and clinics:omg:

Re: Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

How convenient for the mayor of Kabul to use Pak as a scapegoat for his own failures. The Afghan government, its forces, whatever is there in that most freaky country on this planet is in total shambles. And Karzai is playing blame games like a true failed leader.

Re: Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

playing the devils advocate:
Instead of fuming over these remarks we should try and connect the dots and also consider the probability that there maybe some element of truth to these remarks.

Lets consider the facts:
1. Pakistan created and supported Taliban (Pushtoons)
2. Pakistan finds itself boxed in by the Indians (Northern Alliance)
3. Pakistan does not want Pakhtoon problems therefore supports taliban
4. Americans will leave one day, what then? Pak startegists want to have a stable western border with friendly regimes.
5. Pak-Saudi nexus forms Pakistan foreign and domestic strategic pillars, which requires support to groups closely aligned to Saudi beliefs.
6. Pakistan Govt has little control over the tribal regions and lacks the will to implement state authority
7. Pak army-religious clergy nexus started in 1971 continues to flourish
8. Jamaat e Islami sponsored think tanks dominate Islamabad circles
9. Hikmatyaar is staunchly supported by JI and ISI, main reason for Ahmed Shah Masood's disenchantment with Pak policies.
10. Pakistan has always been the whipping boy for obvious reasons.

Re: Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

its well planned mission to blame Pakistan.

give me one reason who would Pakistan do that kind of thing? what they want to acheive by training taliban specially when American are their, let s suppose we dont care what Afghan think about it. but American will take it seriously if in truth this has been happening.

un greatfull rightly said American supported puppet - mayor of Kabul started to show his leadership qualities.

One real answer is to flush out all the illegel afghani immigrants from Pakistan to their sweet homeland.

Re: Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

It’s not just Afghanistan, but independent media like BBC and ITN have accused Pakistan for sheltering Taliban and orchestrating attacks in Afghanistan. They say that ISI was involved in killing Indian Engineer in Afghanistan.
Pakistan sheltering Taliban, says British officer

A senior British officer accused Pakistan of allowing the Taliban to use its territory as a “headquarters” for attacks on western troops in Afghanistan as insurgents struck on multiple fronts yesterday.

**

In one of the worst 24-hour periods since they were ousted from power in 2001, the Taliban launched two suicide bombs, numerous firefights and a massive assault on a village in Helmand province, where 3,300 British soldiers are being deployed. The violence, which started on Wednesday night, caused 105 deaths including 87 Taliban, 15 police, an American civilian and a Canadian woman soldier, according to the highest estimates. British forces were not involved.

**
Colonel Chris Vernon, chief of staff for southern Afghanistan, said the Taliban leadership was coordinating its campaign from the western Pakistani city of Quetta, near the Afghan border. “The thinking piece of the Taliban is out of Quetta in Pakistan. It’s the major headquarters,” he told the Guardian. “They use it to run a series of networks in Afghanistan.”

The Afghan president, Hamid Karzai, echoed these comments by accusing Pakistan of arming the insurgents. “Pakistani intelligence gives military training to people and then sends them to Afghanistan with logistics,” the Pakistan-based Afghan Islamic Press news agency quoted him as saying.
**

Col Vernon said the Quetta leadership controlled “about 25” mid-level commanders dotted across the Afghan south, one of whom was captured last month. He declined to name him.

**
The unusually forthright British criticism, reflecting sentiments normally expressed in private by western commanders, drew a furious denial from the Pakistani military.
**

“It is absolutely absurd that someone is talking like this. If the Taliban leadership was in Quetta we would be out of our minds not to arrest them,” said a spokesman, Major General Shaukat Sultan. “They should give us actionable intelligence so that we can take action.”

The clash reflects growing tensions between Pakistan and the west as Nato prepares to assume command of southern Afghanistan from the US on July 31.
Across the border, worried British and Canadian diplomats are pressing the

Pakistani government to take a tougher approach to the Taliban. Although Pakistan forces have killed or arrested hundreds of al-Qaida suspects since 2001, it has detained only a handful of Taliban officials. The last big catch was spokesman Abdul Latif Hakimi, who was arrested in October 2005 after his mobile phone was traced to Quetta.

“Clearly the Taliban are at large in Baluchistan, operating in Quetta. Obviously that’s a cause for concern,” said a British diplomat in Islamabad. “There’s no evidence of a serious network of Taliban camps but it’s easy for them to take cover in Afghan refugee camps.”

The 930-mile border, most of it barren mountains and desert, is notoriously porous. Maj Gen Sultan said that it was impossible for Pakistani officials to discriminate between ordinary Afghans and Taliban insurgents.

Re: Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

people and people

What is pakistan? It is a failed state nothing else. what is our history nothing being a slave country ie British.
This thing about esaan faramoosh this is a big joke that i have read so far, afghans are the one we should thank because them we didnt had soviet occuption. The money that was give to them as aid by western countries our pathetic country was responsible for the distrubtion of that and do you guys think that pakistan will give all that money to afghans ( go and ask a corrupt pakistan official he will laugh at you) with that aid money or war money pakistan made their atoom boom ( i have my doubts wheter that bomd exist lets hope it does).

Re: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

Afghanistan does not have an intelligence network, agency, or serious capability. All the intelligence that Afghanistan gets, barring some human assets within the Taliban, comes from the US. If Afghanistan is saying this, it is the US that is providing evidence and intelligence data. “Strategic depth” cannot be so easily given away.

Re: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

Today United States has maintained that Pakistan has not done enough in the war on terrorism.

“Terrorism is a fire that will expand to Pakistan as well. If the bomb blasts destroy us one day it will destroy you too”

Re: Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

Just in... Breaking News!!!!!!

Karzai these days is having a worst constipation ever. Speaking with the press he blamed it on the Pakistani Madarrasas and said Pakistani Govt is not doing enough to break his constipation. He also mentioned the help India is providing (trucks load of Jamal Gotta) to get his "ball moving".

more details are coming in....

Re: Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

^Lol. Send him for an ashnan to ganga.

Re: Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

Everybody knows that Pakistan is still a HQ for Taliban and former and current elements of ISI are supporting them in order to keep the Taliban option available to Pakistan. Fatguru is correct in his analysis. Pakistan army has spent lot of energy and money on Taliban. They are not going to just to give up on them because Musharraf made a speech on PTV. Quetta has been known to be a Taliban stronghold since some time. This is all reported by US and British intelligence. Afghans are just relaying that information in public.

Corruption by politicians cannot compare to the damage done to the fabric of Pakistani nation by the army.

The army establishment of Pakistan is not as coherent an entity that people make it out to be. There a lot of competing interests and rogue elements with their own agenda. Due to the nature of army rule and lack of democracy there is no transparency to their actions. I've said this many times before, but let me repeat it once again. Army rule is the number one reason why Pakistan is in such a bad shape right now.

Re: Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

That's why we need a fence along Pak-Afghan border. Pakistani taliban on our side, their taliban on their side. Let's see if Karzai is able to extend his control to a radius of few more miles around Kabul.

Karzai jee, F.E.N.C.E??

Huh? why is your loose mouth so tightly sealed?

Re: Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

Pakistan should expel all Afghan diplomats on drug trafficking charges, since that's all they are. Shut down the borders and port access with complete economic blockade. It will bring low life Afghan scums to their knees and let them know who their daddy is..

Re: Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

US are holding the afghan government…pak government is also backed by US…

so now i wonder why does US help each of those to fight each other??? :konfused:

Re: Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

The US backs Pakistan and Afghanistan in the hunt against terrorism. This is not the US backing two warring factions. This is Pakistan taking money and helping the terrorists. This Pakistan abetting those that are committing terrorism. This is Pakistan being duplicitous and two faced.

Re: Karzai: Pakistan Training Militants, Sending Them to Afghanistan

Oh dear! Bharatis from BIMAROU states won't quit blaming Pakistan. Taliban is Afghani BIMARI, Just like abject poverty is Bihari BIMARI.
