Karzai is again jumping out of his pants and issuing warnings etc to Pakistan. He conveniently forgets his stay in Quetta , when he was given shelter in Pakistan. Why doesn’t he go ahead and send troops into Pakistan, let’s see what this " Afghan Army"(walking holding the fingers of US) is capable of.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai has warned that he is ready to send troops over the border into Pakistan to confront militants based there.
He said that when militants crossed over from Pakistan to kill Afghans and coalition troops, his nation had the right to retaliate in “self-defence”. Mr Karzai’s remarks came two days after Taleban fighters attacked an Afghan jail, freeing hundreds of militants.
Pakistan denies providing a safe haven for the Taleban or other militants. Mr Karzai has long pleaded for Pakistan and international forces to confront militants in Pakistan but has not before threatened to send troops over the border. The BBC’s Quil Lawrence in Kabul says it is the strongest language yet from Mr Karzai on his neighbour.
Air strikes
At least 15 insurgents have been killed in southern Afghanistan during a search for the hundreds of prisoners who escaped Kandahar’s prison, the US military said on Sunday.
It said it had not confirmed that any of the dead were part of the group of inmates who escaped the jail.
Afghan officials say about 900 inmates escaped after the prison was attacked by Taleban militants on Friday. Among them were some 350 Taleban members. International and Afghan security forces have been hunting for the detainees since the break-out.
Afghan officials said about 20 had been recaptured on Saturday and Sunday.
The US military said the insurgents killed had been found at a farm compound in Kandahar province where a cache of weapons was also discovered.
“The combined forces used precision air strikes to destroy the compound after insurgents attacked with small arms fire,” the statement said. Kandahar is one of the key battlegrounds in the Taleban’s insurgency against President Hamid Karzai and troops from Nato and a US-led coalition.

“(They) have been trained against the Pashtuns of Pakistan and against the people of Afghanistan and their jobs are to burn Pashtun schools in Pakistan, not to allow their girls to get educated and kill the Pashtun tribal chiefs,” he said.
“This is the duty of Afghanistan to save the Pashtuns in Pakistan from this tyranny and terror … this is the duty of Afghanistan to defend itself and defend their brothers, sisters and sons on the other side.”
I would like to see him speak up against the non-Pashtuns who evicted Pashtuns from Northern regions of Afghanistan.
I don’t understand why Pakistanis condemn Afghans who tell the truth. And the truth is that there are elements in Pakistan army, ISI, and FC who support Taliban in every way possible.

its quite simple really...the easiest solution is to place landmines all along the pak-afghan border...none of the afghan mayl will come into pakistan anymore...and as for the so called 'militants' crossing over...well that should stop that too right...then why the hell does karzai oppose this? seal the border and they will starve to death when they cant sell their drugs or weapons to pakistan and the rest of the world through our ports...
The words are coming out of Karzai's mouth but the statement has been formed by Karzai's American controlled tongue. This statement is a message from the Americans to Pakistan.
While his statement is quite "cute," it does bring to fore an important issue: Is the Tribal Belt of Pakistan a country of its own? If the tribals cannot abide by the laws, limitations, and compromises that Pakistan has to live by to exist, why should they expect Pakistan's protection?
I have said this before and I'll say it again. If the tribals want to be free, give them their freedom and an opportunity to flex their muscle and get their martyrdom. I am sure NATO forces will be happy to fulfill their dreams of dying in 'Jihad'!
ISLAMABAD, June 15 (AFP) - Pakistan will not allow anyone to interfere in its internal affairs, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said Sunday after Afghan President Hamid Karzai said cross-border attacks on militants were justified. ”We will neither interfere in the internal affairs of any country, nor will we allow anyone to interfere in our affairs,” Gilani told private a private TV channel. Such statements will not help in the normalisation of friendly relations between the two countries and will hurt the sentiments of people on both sides of the border,” he said, however adding he wanted “friendly” ties with Kabul. Gilani countered that Pakistan was taking all possible measure to stop militant activity across the long, rugged frontier. “We are not fighting this war for America but it is our own war and we want to eliminate extremism and terrorism which is the root cause of all evils,” he said.
