Karma Pink

Anyone been to the new store Karma Pink - there’s one in Karachi, and news is that they’re opening up branches in other cities. Its supposed to be pret wear - in other words, scaled down more wearable clothes. Its supposed to be more affordable, technically, but I’m wondering if anyone has gone to the store and what was your experience?

In terms of customer support? In terms of pricing? In terms of wear-ability (dunno about you but I don’t have the figure for so much skin exposure anymore…)? In terms of variety in the shop?

The advertisements and news I’m hearing is that dresses start out pretty cheap - as low as 2000 ruppees.

Re: Karma Pink

Their outfits are cute I didn't see anything above 20k. They ate definitely affordable.

I bought a couple from their Lahore branch.. they have nice everyday and semi-formals.

Re: Karma Pink

Can you post up pictures, as well as tell us how much you paid vs. what quality you were getting?

gina where is it in lahore? in gulberg?

MM Alam Road :)

they have some on karma.com too

Re: Karma Pink

So, I emailed them regarding this one outfit. I know for a fact that if you buy some raw cloth, and hand it off to a tailor, he could make this design for you (in a non-shaadi season) for about 3000 ruppees or less. That would include stitching. Prices may have gone up with recent economic turbulences around the world, but that was the price that I would have fetched about 3 years ago last I was in Pakistan.

I emailed Karma Pink about this design, and I asked the price. I was told 15,000 ruppees.

I mean really. Its all about robbing people to make a living in Pakistan these days, isn’t it?

Re: Karma Pink

which design is it PCG?

Re: Karma Pink

I think Basanti?

Re: Karma Pink

designer clothes are expensive, and of course they try to make max profit (like any business), what you are also paying for is the creativity and design process the designer has gone thru (just like you pay a lawyer for example for their research/critical thinking etc) so you are not just paying for cloth+kaam+stitching.

having said that, i have never found Karma designs appealing

Re: Karma Pink

its basanti kaftan right?jubjub is right designers clothes r way more expensive coz they charge u for the brand name.but it still i doubt if u'll get that design made for 3000 rs in good quality fabric.u r looking at something as low as 5000-6000 rs.So 15000 rs is still way too much.
