Majority of the people living in the northern parts of India (including present Pakistan) are aryans and those living in the southern parts are dravdians - rather dravidians were pushed towards south by the invading aryans.
Sikhism is a contemporary religion - not more than 600 years old. Many muslims and Hindus of punjab converted to this religion rather than sikhs converted to muslims.
We have pathan state in what is now called UP in India - named Rohailkhund in the 17th and 18th century.
