Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday claimed the ongoing political crisis has caused Rs300 billion worth of losses at the Karachi Stock Exchange.
Addressing a press conference held at the finance ministry, Dar argued that the current political crisis was an “attempt to destabilise the country”.
“Imran Khan knows very well that his demands [for caretaker setup] are unconstitutional; the prime minister cannot be removed according to his wishes” Dar stated.
The finance minister made it clear that Imran and the Azadi March would be dealt with politically, while Tahirul Qadri would be dealt administratively.
On PTI’s white paper
Dar termed the PTI’s white paper on the financial budget “a pack of lies”.
He said the budget carried relief measures for all segments of society, particularly the youth. He also said the country’s economy has over performed over the last year. He argued that the budget carries not only measures for the promotion of industrial and business activities, but also for the agriculture sector.
The finance minister said five hundred billion rupees had been allocated in the budget for disbursement of loans among the farmers, aside from a subsidy given to them on other agriculture inputs.
“The budget is pro-elite, just as it is pro-people”, Dar said.
It will be a cold day in hell when Ishaq Dar speaks the truth about anything. Isnt he the same guy who was cited by IMF for cooking books once? And yet he did it again this year, and claimed it to be a typo?
As for his terming PTIs paper a pack of lies, he hasnt had the guts to come to a talk show and debate his fiscal lies with someone of worth…and relies on individual interviews, much like his leige lord Nawaz Sharif to promote his family’s agenda.
By the above logic, if KSE investors suffered a loss of 62 billion now,and 300 billion prior to that after the market dropped 1300 points, then on the flip side, when the market shot up from 21,000 last year to above 30,000 this year, investors must have made a 'profit' of over a trillion rupees? Based on that, they must have paid the govt taxes of about 300-400 billion?
Ishaq Dar can sell this bull$hit to his constituents
Moody’s ko idhar aa kar tution parhani chahiye parhay likhay logon say :cobra: in bay charon ko kia pata kah syasi surat hal ko kuch asar naheen hota hay :cb:
Did anyone of you have the guts to question Ishaq Dar and Nawaz Sharif when they handed out tax amnesties to their beloved business community brethren over the last year? 2 amnesties in 1 year I believe. Did you calculate how much potential tax income was lost as a result of those whitening schemes? If you want to live on media propaganda, quote all the hysterical morning and evening rags you want. But for once, learn to think on your own as well, rather than just rely on fodder fed by the self professed money laundering finance minister.
The way these papers talk about IMF handout is as if it is pocket money for Pakistan. This money is a loan which has to be paid back in another 2 years.
Debate bill pass honay sey pehley hoti hai…pass honay kay baad debate ka achar dalna hai? PMLN has never entertained input from the opposition, true to their monarchist style. In a recent speech, Nawaz Sharif openly said that “we will not pass any legislation in the parliament, because we dont have a majority in the Senate.” The guy does not tolerate opposition. He wants a one man show. No wonder people dont mind when martial law is imposed, as it is more or less the same thing, minus the family mafia.

PTI participated in the finance bill debate as part of the opposition. Several amendments were suggested by the opposition. Several were proposed by Ishaq Dar. Opposition amendments were rejected. Ishaq Dar's were accepted.
In a one man/family show, opposition input doesnt count.

link to aht amendments were suggested in Finance Bill by PT? I heard that all amendments from opposition were moved by PPP.
When you openly give PML(N) chance to do what they wish by boycotting and closing doors of debate, then equal responsibility lies on you as well. I'm sorry, but during last 14 months, PTI has never shown strong opposition skills in Parliament. If Parliament is not important, then why so much crying on electoral rigging?
