Re: Karachi Snob...

Cool site though. not sure if it's valid but it looks nice

Re: Karachi Snob...
qibla..and that is the funny thing, this "IN" thing at "large cirporate bodies" (including banking ;) ) is not using the term correctly.
and your post just proved it :) thank you
PS: Quiche not keesh .. unless calling quiche as keesh is also "In" at large corporate bodies (including banking) PS2: caps lock key phans gayee hai shayad
Welcome back Fraudz...
You are one of the few I ever knew who thinks being mistaken or wrong is a mortal sin...
So, why the name change?

being mistaken or wrong is not a sin, but to insist that what is wrong is right is indeed an issue.
why the name change? following your lead mah man :)

HAHAHA!!!
Re: Karachi Snob...
well actually i just wanted to walk away from deep controversial religious and poltiical decisions because they did nto do any good except create bad blood, so to usher in a new era of my laming about. Fraud was killed.
anyways, there is a high tea and there is a low tea, and what they are calling high tea is actually low tea :) I have no issue with it except that pl who consider themselves snobs..may have tried to be a little accurate here and follow their british masters more accurately.
Re: Karachi Snob...
I believe that high tea is an early evening tea, served with a full meal (meat, bread etc.)... anyone can have it no matter which class they belong to... workingman or elite. However, it sounds more reasonable for working class, as after they return from work early evening they can have chai along with their dinner. Elite class, on the other hand has so much spare time and money on their hands, so they go for the low or afternoon tea.
however, i think the site is not claiming that high tea is a posh affair... it is just giving you info about where the high tea is served, and the hours mentioned (except for one restaurant) sounds reasonable to have/serve a high tea.
PS: i don't mind Pakistanis having hi-tea or low tea, or even the middle tea, as much as i won't mind them having a duck at their dinner table at thanksgiving day in the near future.

I dont have an issue with pakistanis having high, low, medium whatever tea.
but just use the term correctly, low tea par jatay huay logon ki izzat kam ho jati hai shayad :) so here is an idea, lets just call low tea as high tea.
kher, I can see how terms can change in modern days, after all the isha-iya is more of a tahhajudaa at desi weddings now :D but we still call it isha-iya.
wonder who coined that term anyways.
