Sorry, can't leave it in General.
Some good restaurants I went to in Karachi were Village at Seaview (they make really good halwa) and Lal Qila. Usmania is o.k. too. If you want western food, there is KBC (I think that's the name) in Saddar which makes really good burgers.

^ Yeah, KBC was good. I liked Lal Qila as well. Salt 'n Pepper was great as well.

I recommend:
BBQ Tonight, Karachi Grill on Boat Basin. There is a food street on Boat Basin, a lot of restaurants.
Arizona Grill, Copper Kettle on Zamzama.
Lal Qila, Mela on shahrahe-faisal near Mohmmal Ali Society.
I would also recommend you to check out charpai restaurants on Super Highway. This is a new trend in Karachi, all the chains (like Usmania, Bundu khan etc) have opened up restaurants on Super Highway, they are little bit outside Karachi on way to Hyderabad. It is really a nice setup, people sit on charpai, can have sheesha and very nice food including grill n stuff. I liked the food a lot.

Mehnaz, Village got burnt in September and still hasnt been reopened :(
It was such a nice place, esp their sehri buffets at 3am in ramadan were great :D
Some reports say the owners tried to pull an insurance scam. God knows...
Clifton Grill is new and is owned by mr 10% ;)

Yeah Mehnaz the decor was quite interesting and on cooler days the balcony tables facing the sea were a great place to sit...do post the pics. The charpoy, well and huqqa outside were nice.

if u like paki food u have to check out waheed restaurant on bunds road sadder there kebabs, nihari are really good plus they have a speciality named kabab fry which is gola kabab fried in butter....on the same road u will find a lassi wala which is to good....who also sales rubry which is out of this world.

food in lahore and islamabad is much better than khi.Try Nawab on Zamzama,its pretty good.

wouldn't be right to say food in islamabad & lahore is tastier than food in karachi, food is tasty every where depending on your taste. but ha thats your opinion.

Yup, it seems theyre trying to renovate it, but it's been so long, so the signs arent good...until then make do with Lal Qila :)

Jamal mentioned quite a few good ones, especially the small types.
Make sure you go to Burns road for Kababs, tikkas, parathas, sheermaal, nihari, haleem etc.
Students Biryani is really good. It is in Sadar.
Sheraton, Marriott, Avari Towers, Pearl Continental, & Lal Qila have the best Buffets.
For nihari, check out New Sabri & Cafe Zaiqa in Nazimabad Chowrangi area. Javed Nihari in North Nazimabad.
Hot & Spicy (in Zamzamma) & Silver Spoon (in Hasan Square) has the best paratha rolls.
BBQ Tonight, Silver Spoon & Noorani have really good tikka kabobs. Silver Spoon makes the best maghaz.
In Sadar, Baloch Falooda is REALLY good. There is a Biryani & Chicken Broast place right next to it (can’t remember the name)…they are really good. There is a very good Chaat place accross the intersection.
For bun kababs…there are couple of good ones right next to each other on Tariq Road…one of them is called Hollywood…(something). They both have good chaat and paratha rolls too. I used to order all three and a mango milkshake. Actually the one next to Hollywood is a better one. It is owned by very friendly pathans.
For Western type food…some good ones are Copper Kettle, Arizona Grill and many fast food types around Boat Basin area.
For ice cream, check out all the Peshawri Icecream shops…they are everywhere. Havmor (in Bahadrabad), KayBees (in Mohammad Ali Society) and there is one on Karsaz road…can’t remember the name… are all good.
