To relieve the pressure of Karachi a new port of Gwador was built and the city was set to take off, however the MQM people don’t want Gwador to succeed as it would reduce the importance of Karachi and in turn MQM’s influence.

Gwadar port has to do with the instability of Balochistan, thats why it has been shelved for now.
