A bomb blast at a religous gathering to celebrate 12 RabiulAwwal in Nishtar Park. All hospitals are flooding with victims. About 40 feared dead.
May Allah bless all.
It’s the second tragedy within 3 days.
KARACHI, Pakistan - A bomb exploded during evening prayers at a park in this southern Pakistani city Tuesday, killing at least 40 people and wounding dozens. An angry mob burned cars and threw stones at police, who fired into the air to disperse the crowd, a witness said.

A bomb was planted under a stage prepared by a Sunni Muslim group at Nishtar Park in Karachi, Pakistan's largest city, for a prayer service to celebrate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, said area police chief Shah Nawaz.
"We don't know who might be responsible, but we are handling a big tragedy," Nawaz told The Associated Press.
Interior Minister Aftab Khan Sherpao told AP that at least 40 people were killed. "It is a very unfortunate incident," he said.
Semi Jamali, a doctor at a nearby hospital where at least 24 bodies were taken, said dozens of people were being treated for injuries.
Scenes of mass confusion broke out after the explosion in the park, where hundreds of people had gathered for the prayer service.
Scores of men wearing long white robes clambered onto the stage to assist victims, and an angry mob burned cars and pelted police with stones after the blast, said witness Mohammed Asif. Police forces fired into the air to disperse the crowds.
People were seen carrying away bloodied victims and placing them into ambulances. Four men carried one victim in what looked like a white sheet that was soaked with blood.
"I saw body parts everywhere. I saw people collecting body parts and putting them in ambulances," Asif said.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/4900402.stm At least 40 people have been killed in a bomb blast at a huge gathering to mark the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi.
Dozens more were injured when the bomb went off under the wooden stage where senior religious leaders were sitting.
Eyewitnesses said the explosion happened as tens of thousands of people were taking part in evening prayers.
Chaos broke out crowds of people rushed to leave Nishtar Park where the event was being held.
“It is a very unfortunate incident,” Interior Minister Aftab Khan Sherpao told the Associated Press news agency.
“I can confirm that 40 people have died in the bomb blast.”
No-one has claimed responsibility for the explosion at what was believed to be the biggest of such events being held in Pakistan. Karachi has a history of sectarian and ethnic violence, but this is the first time in decades that a religious gathering being held in connection with Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary has been targeted, the BBC’s Zaffar Abbas in Pakistan says.
This will be really bad. top leaders of two very large organizations Sunni Tehreek and Jammat e Ehl e Sunnat have been been killed. The city is darkened, completely, and you can sense that this will escalate. Motorcycles are buzzing around, ambulances, the decorations for the 12th are all off, and the city is eerily sogwaar on the day of the birth of the Prophet.
Sharam naam ki koi chiz nahi hai.
And I dont think shia-sunni violence will escalate. Sunni Tehreek's leaders have previously been targeted by groups such as SSP and their various aliases with links to "Al-Qaeda". The people the Sunni Tehreek is likely to view as responsible for this are not the shias, but a sect within sunnies. The anchor people at geo dropped that hint about an hour back. Ofcourse shias might be killed by-the-by waisay hi, lekin the sense right now is whoever is behind the suicide bombings in iraq is also behind this, whether it be non Muslim hands or our own.
death toll now 56.such a holy day blackened by this savage act.its the price we are paying since the days of Afghan war for our socalled Frontline State role.
Really sad. These mindless criminals have no respect for anyone's life. They have no right to call themselves muslims. Shameful and tragic. May Allah give strength to the families who have lost loved ones.
