Karachi Airport Shootings

I’d like to ask the more religious scholars here…what are your thoughts on the airport take-over by militants…?

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

Peace Sister PyariCgudia

Why did you direct that question to the religious-scholars? Do you feel they are at fault here?

From a personal point of view this is a terrible thing that has happened and it is not designed for unity, and it is not designed for benefiting the religious among the populous ... It seems like outside help/interference ...

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

^ because their silence is deafening?

Suppose it was a drone attack on the airport with no deaths. We'd have massive protests chanting anti-american slogans by now.

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

^ I agree - we would have those slogans ...

From a religious point of view the first thing to do is find out for sure who has done this ...

I think that would be the first course of action from any point of view buddy

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

Yes they are 100% responsible.

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

The one who has claimed!

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

Agreed

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

Really? Did they personally tell you?

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

So who claimed it? I can't imagine the response from the religious people will be any different from any one else ... It is an act of terrorism - a major crime in the Deen.

The TTP-Extreme have claimed it - in vengeance to the loss of their leader ... Religiously their justification is no justification at all ... Islamically we are not allowed to kill or harm innocents

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

TTP has claimed responsibility...what else anyone needs to believe it?

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

So all the tableghi jamats with their "ulema e haq" from world over be redirected to FATA to preach them that whatever they are doing in name of deen is not deen actually.

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

This was a political motion - no amount of condemnation or religious justification will make them budge from their position. It's wrong to hold religious groups to account for the actions of another group that has taken the blame already as KKF has stated. Blame the TTP and do something about them ...

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

Ulema is one of the biggest opinion making group in the country. If someone is using the name of Islam to commit crime, should those who claim to propagate Islam keep quiet?

They have a lot of following among common citizens of Pakistan. The condemnation would not be in a hope to budge taliban from their position but to have support from the masses against them. Why are they keeping silent?

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

Peace kakaballi

Do you follow the ulema? If you don't it makes no difference ... If you do, then tell your own 'alim to speak up. These times are an excuse to divert attention to the ulema ... For no reason ... The terrorists are not equivalent to the religious.

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

I don't, but millions of Pakistanis do.

They come out in thousands with stones and sticks damaging public property over caricatures made half way around the world. Not a word now that Pakistanis are being killed left, right and center?

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

Peace kakaballi

Those strange Pakistani antics are not led by the ulema ... The public does things without any permission or direction from the ulema ... And admittedly some of the people posing as 'alim are dodgy fakes ... But this is all so off topic ... If you want to speak out about you are doing that ... I support you ... In fact the act was evil ... And if the ulema say the same thing ... It won't change the fact that they will still happen.

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

Charyeh belong to only one place... the jungle....what a disgrace to humanity tht we have let them out in the society...

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

Again. The idea is not to stop what is happening but to build public consensus against it.

Anyways, if you do not consider the 'mazhab ke thekedaar' in Pakistan as ulema, I would not use that word. I am talking about the talking beards that cry hoarse over drone attacks and Israel's aggression against Palestinians and bring out large processions over 'abduction' of sister aafia and so forth but keep mum when Pakistanis die.

Re: Karachi Airport Shootings

Kakaballi ... I agree with you ... I don't know anyone who supports this ... They call it revenge ... Even revenge should be appropriate ... This sort of thing is not appropriate ... But I would like to ask the OP why she felt the religious needed to speak ... It appears the religious are getting blamed for these acts ... If they were truly religious then they would not harm a fly ... But these people a vexed ... Angry and enraged which are also traits of people who are not religious ... They may think themselves to be religious ... But in reality they are fanatics ...

Hadith: There shall be no harm nor reciprocating harm.
Hadith: Don't get angry.
Ayat: And wounds equal for equal, but if anyone remits the retaliation by way of charity, it shall be an expiation for him.

Religious people follow the scriptures ...

but they should also be doing this ...

Hadith: Stop injustice with hand, if they cannot then with words, if they cannot then to dislike it in the hearts and that is the weakest of Iman ...

But I tell you what ... Let's all go to the ulema to ask them what we need to do as people in our lives ... And if we pray that Allah (SWT) sorts us out and put effort in to sort ourselves out ... If we start to follow the ulema in our day to day things then I assure you Allah (SWT) will remove the fitnah of these terrorists ... Who I believe are being sent to the Pakistani nation by Allah (SWT) just like the Mongols were sent to previous generations ...
