Inna lilla e wa inna ialaih e rajioon

Sad events. Not much else to say.

Inna lilla e wa inna ialaih e rajioon

A terrible news. My cousin, who happens to be a Shia Doctor, works in a Jinnah Hospital, where victims have been brought by Edhi Foundation Workers. 9/10 innocents become the victim of Terrorism today.

If I remember correctly, close to 10 shiates were killed in Rawalpindi last year in Feb 2002. I was in Pakistan, then. Today, again we see the same tragedy against innocent.

Crackdown on extremists has worked; sectarian killings is not the daily rountine as it used to be in the 90's but Law & Order stilll needs more attention. After targeting minorities and foreigners, extremists are now haunting down on Shiates again.

CID needs to expand her activities, share info with local law enforcement authorities and capture these fugitives, who don't understand; don't want our nation to live in peace.

My condolence to the families of the poor and innocent victims.

May the souls of the victims rest in peace!! And may Allah be the judge of those who carried out such a heinous crime.

Shame !!!!!

Really Sad :(

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon.
May justice be served against these perpetrators.

Pakistani Shias gunned down, BBC, 23 February 2003

Police considers Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, a prime suspect.

Extremist gang blamed for Karachi massacre

Pakistani police say they suspect the extremist gang Lashkar-i-Jhangvi was behind the massacre of nine Shiite Muslims as they entered a mosque in the southern port city of Karachi.

**In the worst sectarian massacre in Pakistan in a year, ** two gunmen on a motorbike sprayed bullets at a group of Shiite worshippers as they approached a mosque in Karachi’s eastern suburbs.

Pakistan has experienced more than a decade of bloodshed between rival Shiite and Sunni extremists which has left thousands dead since the late 1980s.

Things have improved over the year, but such events give rise to more fear among the people. Shias cannot even go to masjid not knowing they will come out alive or in body bags.

Time to squeeze the terrorists even more.

Inna Lillahe wa inna Allahe rajaun

i was surfing the web, went to cnn.com and when i saw the headline "8 people gunned down in the mosque..i just knew it before clicking on it that it has to be a shia mosque..this is nothing new

Sheraz

I agree, the conditions imposed upon shias by these groups are unacceptable. The sad bit is that these groups liek sipah e sahaba brainwash young guys into thinking that theya re doing something good..Its shocking to say the least. The only way groups like this will cerase to exist will be by instituting a death penalty for members of these terrorist groups.

oh seems may not understand what I just wrote so here goes..

Sheraz

I agree, de condishuns imposed downon shias by dese groups is unacceptable. De sad bit be dat dese groups liek sipah e sahaba brainwuzh yung dudes into dinkin' dat deya re hangin' sump'n baaaad..Its shockin' t'say de least. Man! De only way groups likes dis gots'ta cerase t'exist gots'ta be by institutin' some dead penalty fo' members uh dese terro'ist groups.

^ Sunnis have also become the vicitim of Sectarian Killings. Don't forget that!

I love this site. You could sit hear and not see anyone reply. And then all of a sudden there are 6 or 7 people posting all sorts of reply. Makes you think that there is only 1 person behind it.

Papers? There's is no question of newspapers here. I know people who have become victims of Sectarian killings. Some were Sunnis, some where Shias.

What are you suggesting? Only Shias have been pointed out! You haven't spend time in Pakistan, then.

it may not happen as much but it happens..I have as much dislike for the sunni extremists as I have for shia extremists or for that matter whirrling dervesh extremists (if there are any)..yes more shias have been killed, it does not mean that extremist shia groups are doing good either. both need to stop and are equally lame./. the same is true for Iran where the opposite has been happening.

On Jan. 31 gunmen attacked a Sunni mosque in eastern Pakistan, killing a Muslim prayer leader and another man in what police said was a dispute over the mosque’s ownership.

The same day, in the central city of Faisalabad, two Sunni worshippers were injured in a shooting on a mosque.

On June 17, 2002, unidentified gunmen opened fire on minority Shiite Muslims outside a mosque in the central city of Multan, killing three worshippers, including two brothers.

And on Feb. 26, 2002, attackers opened fire at a Shiite mosque in Rawalpindi, adjacent to the capital, killing 11 people.

Increasingly lawyers, doctors and businessmen of the two communities are victims of such targeted killings. At least seven lawyers from the two communities were shot dead in June alone. These included Sunni lawyer Rao Khalil Ahmed shot dead on 24 June on his way to the Lahore High Court and Shia lawyer Shamim Haider Zaidi killed on 30 June in Multan.

Unofficial figures say more than 80 doctors have been killed in sectarian and related violence in Karachi during the past 30 months. Most of those killed were Shia, according to news reports. (Note:most..not all)

Sheraz, there adefintely more than one or two cases. I am not justifying either side, I think all groups on both sides thata re engaging in it are pathetic.

I am as opposed to sipah-e-sahaba as I am opposed to sipah-e-mohammad. or the whabi opressing others in Saudi arabia or the shia oppressing bahai and sunni in Iran. They collectively need to grow up.

same here. I am just painting a picture saying that there is extremism on both sides which needs to be curtailed and peopel like you and I should be speaking out against killers on both sides.

The fact that killings have been on both sides is not to justify the killings but to demonstrate that it has to stop in both sides. Life is life..it should not be taken away by murder like these psychos do.
