Kandahar comes out of the closet.

Is it me or everyone got their arrogance stuck up their asses these days?

Oh really? What about children that are molested by their own parents and grandparents in the states who most of the time happens to be Caucasians, Whites (average Americans)? You see a lot of runaway underage boys on American streets prostituting themselves (majority of them White kids) for money and food, and their customers (most of the time white) buy them goods, pay their rent and sometime let them live in their houses. So does that also mean that it is in their culture, tradition or religion? Arrogance is not a virtue.

Freemind writes:

“the society is sexually segregated, and because of lack of any women, helpless boys r the logical preys. This brings out the point, why talibans did not ask young boys to cover themselves like women? after all young boys were alluring men!!”

I guess that’s why they asked them to grow beards, so they wont look so cute. Btw, that’s also show that this was not that big of a problem as this reporter says so.

“Legal Marriage in pushtoon society is all about how much the groom can pay to the girl's father/uncle. I have known many pushtoon young men who work in katrachi to earn some money to marry.”

Which other society don’t (esply when it comes to Desi or Arab)? At least in Pushtoon culture the guy have to pay, where you have so many young girls sitting home in India and Pakistan because their fathers can’t pay their daahage.

“Pushtoon soiety is very cruel to helpless sections of the society.”

Which society is not?

“i mean women r and were not in public places. No one can see them much less approach them for courtship/friendship.”

Well, the Taliban are gone now, I don’t see couples going out on dates or to proms. So far the west is surprised that the “all torturing” Burka is still there.

i am not holding taliban responsible for sex-segregation. I am talking about pushtoon culture, and saying that homo-sexuality is very logical in this situation, as homosexuality also develops in boys hostals, etc.

Pushtoon society is cruel because in karachi, lahore, if u know that a young girl or boy is being sexually exploited, would u sit idle or atleast call police? And what if that boy’s parents come to know of this? It just happens in tribal areas that patrents dont do anything.

I guess that’s why they asked them to grow beards, so they wont look so cute. Btw, that’s also show that this was not that big of a problem as this reporter says so. <<

and how much beard can a 13-17 years old grow? The boys’vulerability is the main factor in seducing them. and if someone is so frustarted on boys, he would not mind few hairs on the boy’s face, would he? but anyway, whom am i asking?

freemind,

“i am not holding taliban responsible for sex-segregation. I am talking about pushtoon culture, and saying that homo-sexuality is very logical in this situation, as homosexuality also develops in boys hostals, etc.”

Lets talk about logic here for a second. Girls are free to date and to go home with who ever they want to; however, America has become the center of world gays. They can get married, have children, have their sex changed blablabla….the American culture is way different then the Pushtoon culture, but you still see children getting molested by their own freaking family members, young gay men with old dirty rednecks. In fact over the years boys don’t mind having sex with both girls and boys as they say “we do it for the experience” or “something new”.

Logic is that something like the Burka is Pushtoon culture, because you see only Pushtoon putting it to effect in their society. Homosexuality and molestation exist in every culture and society no matter how advance or “civilized” they happen to be. It’s a menace of every human race not a culture of just one particular group.

“Pushtoon society is cruel because in karachi, lahore, if u know that a young girl or boy is being sexually exploited, would u sit idle or at least call police?”

Oh please, many times when families have some pervert mulvee visiting kids at their homes in these cites find out that the mulvee ji was doing something else beside teaching (just like the Catholic Priests in their churches), they keep quite out of shame and humiliation. And now don’t tell me that there is no such thing in Karachi or Lahore, try visiting a video game arcade, you find young boys doing more then just playing video games.

“It just happens in tribal areas that patrents dont do anything.”

Are you kidding me? In places where someone will blow your f**king head of just for gazing in their homes or taking a peek towards their mother or sister, you are telling me that they keep quite all time and except this as a norm? There are stories of falana falana having their balls cut off when caught doing something like that.

I’m not saying that it don’t happen, but no need to exaggerate.

“and how much beard can a 13-17 years old grow? The boys' vulerability is the main factor in seducing them. and if someone is so frustarted on boys, he would not mind few hairs on the boy's face, would he? but anyway, whom am i asking?”

I was being sarcastic when I said “guess that’s why they asked them to grow beards, so they wont look so cute.”

The point is that Taliban did something about it. And they did it to the fullest. Not just making some ridiculous democratic laws that don’t mean or do squat in reality when imposed.

  1. u r making too much generalization here. lets say i am not talking about USA. Even in khi, girls and boys see each other in virtually every place. Not all girls date, but atlest boys know what girls 'mean'. In pushtoon culture, the only women a man knows r his sisters, or mother.

In USA, if a child gets molested, then the no one keeps quiet. Women, men in 40s come out later, allegeing some father or uncle of that charge. That is one reason it looks like that the whol society is pervert. In closed society like pak, no one comes out, out of shame. girls continue to be molested till in 20s, and they have no place to go. I personally know such cases. In USA, girls/boys get indepedent at relatively early age. They know their rights, and they know how state can come to their help. And if such incident happens, media will be shouting for weeks on that. victims do not feel much shame or society's bad reactions when they come out. There r virtually 100s of support groups for abuse victims.
In pak, if a girl comes out with this allegation against any person, the state may implicate the girl in crime (hudood ordinance), or she may never get married because of 'spoiled reputaition'.

  1. i dont have anything against burka. my mother used to wear it too. But the point is that no one should enforce anything on other. if a woman wants to get rid of burka, she should not have any compulsion.

And if the logic of burka is to make men pious, then young boys should be forced to wear burka.

  1. r u saying that if a moulvi in khi molests a girl/boy, and if the kid's perants have a slight suspicion, would they keep this moulvi come to his house?

  2. Boys and Girls r treated differently in tribal societues. u can not touch or ogle at anyone's sister. But if u like someone's younger brother, it is OK to 'keep' him provided u don't hurt him and keep him happy.

  3. Yes, Talibans did something about it. I am not denying it. But hey, I am criticising the society, not Talibans. Talibans, with all sort of punishments/bindings could not do much. if u do not have a social structure which supports early or easy marriages, and u also want to bar homosexuality by force---it does not happen this way.

And last but not least, I do not consider homosexuality a menace. But sex with minors is WRONG. And when that happens on so large scale then we should investigate why it happnes in tribal societies in particular? and in rigid muslim societies in general? what is the status of women there? how come a young boy always explores his sexuality in the men's world? How does a man get to know (not just sex) a woman, or vice versa? At what age can men marry? If not around or less than mid-20s, then y not? u will see that answers to such questions would point finger at the social structure not poor women/men.

Sod 'em but don't hurt 'em?????

I'm gobsmacked!

The article points out two things.

One, that the Talaban were indeed oppressive, rather than educating and nurturing their fellow beings they tried to pressure them to their own preconceived ideologies.

Second, that the 'allies' propaganda has very little truth in it. They haven't addressed the true problems of Afghanistan; they have only removed one form of ignorance with another.

Day by day I am getting convinced that fighting the soviets was a mistake, especially for Pakistan.
