also, they were disguised in security forces uniform, maybe that's why it took them a while to take action right away?
It must have been very difficult for them to differentiate between PAF personnel and militants.

exactly. I still think SSG and others took timely action. because if we compare what happened in PNS mehran and the casualities. they definetly did a good job in crushing all the terrorists.

Being a grand daughter of a pilot and daughter of a retired air force officer and sister of a serving aeronautical engineer i take huge pride in capabilities of our air force but still i cant hide my disappointment, they should have done something about the security after the reports of attack surfaced. this one is not an ordinary base.

I heard there were planes, no JF-17s though (which the authorities had removed in time after receiving intelligence of an imminent attack). One of the planes did sustain some damage. The main purpose was to destroy the planes, hence they all came in wearing suicide jackets. They did not come to capture the air base which is next to impossible scenario

And why do we start to believe that ourselves. The terrorists were successfully stopped and sent to hell, how does that even come close to security of nuclear weapons.

Granted that Kamra is in a built-up area and not completed isolated, militants should still not have been able to enter the place esp. after we had received very specific information of an imminent attack. Ofcourse it is not possible to prevent every single attack but once you have received specific intelligence you are expected to do better (i.e. prevent it)
All the security personnel praying at the same time is another loophole. perhaps they should have two separate timings (cf. Eid prayers)
If some terrorists had managed to enter the London Olympic park (despite reported threats) but not been able to cause serious damage because of timely action by the British security forces, will it have been considered a satisfactory performance by them since the park is in a built-up area?

Asif, lets not jump to conclusions based upon reports of Pakistani media which i have seen reports lot of bakwaas without verifying. Remember the Sher Shah bridge collapse, for hours media kept telling us there are people trapped in a bus below the bridge, from accounts of eye witnesses when there was no one.

Yesterday Panetta was claiming that Pakistan's nuclear assets are unsafe, this would only prove his point.

American soldiers have been killed inside their own bases, that means their bases are unsafe.

The Situtation over all in Pakistan is worst and these kind of attacks make us disappointd and a lot of worries come in mind, this is the time all poltical parties including army sit down on a table and decide how to win this war how to secure our homeland, i wish if our polticians learned a lesson from it and put aways each others interests and unite for united pakistan.

The world media would definitely not stop screaming (regarding the safety of our nukes) after this. Mind you Kamra has been a target before. They really need to initiate full lock down...but I fear the trojan horse is within the walls

This is height of incompetence especially if they knew that this was going to happen. And, when will security establishment going to recognize that there are no good militants & that all of them must eliminated?
