in my recent visits to pakistan i have seen that the entry to any airbase infact any area where millitary or ex millitary officers live is such a pain ......there are so many obstacles starting from quite a distance to the post and then on the check post you have to put your airforce id in front of a camera so that the guard inside the guard room sees it and then opens the gate and if you are not an official you have to present your id card and phone number of the person you are visiting, the guard calls the person to confirm and then opens teh gate....and through out this procedure he never comes out of the guard room in direct line of fire......so how the hell 10 ppl can cross 3 check posts?

According to PAF spokesman, the militants stormed into PAF Base Minhas and in a two-way clash five to six militants were killed while one body of a suicide bomber, a foreigner, strapped with explosives has been found close to the impact area.
“The aircraft parked at the base are safe and no J-F Thunder planes were present at the facility,” he confirmed.
There are reports of six security personnel being injured, one of whom is said to be in critical condition.
the base is enclosed by walls and there are check posts at all entry points.......................how could they leave any weakness? there are foreigners working on this base, and if i am not wrong this is the manufacturing and assembly hub of the airforce, how could they let it happen.

I dont know, perhaps, there was not adequate security, given that everyone was praying at that time.
