Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

He was the third most senior judge on the former Supreme Court, who although refused to take the PCO, has abandoned the ex-CJ and accepted a lucrative job offered by President Musharraf.

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

Its a sad day for all when an honest man is bullied to act against his convictions, nothing to smile about.

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

Mashallah. Good to what time he went to office and when he returned. :)

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

Well, we all have to making living somehow...

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

Well he is the 6th former Supreme Court Judge to abandon the pleas of his former boss Iftikhar and align himself to the govt side. The other 5 judges have sworn an oath on the PCO, and got their old jobs back.

Oh, and 40 other judges of the Punjab, Sindh, NWFP and Balochistan High Courts have also sworn ao oath on the PCO and safeguarded their jobs as well. So Javed Iqbal is in pretty big company now. :jhanda:

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

Oh, and Justice Iqbal was one of the 7 judges who set aside the Proclomation of Emergency. It didn't take him to long to change his mind, and accept a cushy job from the Chief of Army Staff. :D

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

Wasn’t the EX CJ a PCO judge himself?

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

Yes he was, so was Bhagwandas, Ramday and the other protesting judges. They say they are not ashamed of taking the oath under the PCO, as well.

So why should the almost 50% of Superior Judges who have taken the oath on the new PCO be ashamed if Ifti and his mates were not?

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

Yep. There appears to be no shame when asking others not to do what they have done themselves.

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

Who knows what pressure was put on the judge. When you and your family is threatened by govt and we have seen their brutality on the streets of Pakistan anything is possible. If it is as good as the picture being painted here lift the emergency and face the public.

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

Yep, do as I say, not as I do (or did in Ifti's case).

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

are you 100% sure that its “almost 50%”? :hehe: you have flip flopped in other thread about numbers. Besides, the “shame” could lie in the difference between the PCOs… for lamers they are all just “PCO”.

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

I'm sure if he weren't under peer pressure of sorts he would have taken another oath possibly even becoming new CJ!

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

welcome home :)

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

zameer apna apna!

Two chairs are most dangerous and accountable at the day of judgement.
Ruler and the justice. We don't need to wait for national archives to unveil things after 25/50 years. Everything is visible, even a blind man can tell where the Mush/Q-League slipped into the ditch, working on disintegration of the country. If we are the nation to learn from our mistakes, do check files from 60s how the fall of Dhaaka was planned by big powers and how millitary and beaureucracy acted on the script.

The crises and conspiracy is beyond the shortsighted followers of the typical mob civil/military that always remain in power no matter what. Check PTV and its 'sub acha hai' attitude, it was same in 71, 77, 99 and today.

hmm, another victim. Whose sex video was made secretly by MI goons-his or some of his family member's?

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

or may be he got unfair benefits for his son just like our beloved Iffti taking advantage of his position and now govt is pressing his nerve point :)

Re: Justice Javed Iqbal abandons ex-CJ Iftikhar - accepts new job from Musharraf

There are reports that another former Supreme Court judge (who retired years ago) - Justice (rtd) Ijaz Nisar is being made the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab.

I am sure jobs can be found for other judges as well, even Ifti. :D
