I'm thinking of the interviews given by Shahzaib's parents that they will not forgive the murderers at any cost. They were quoting their and other people's dreams where their son asked them for not forgiving. God knows, why they forgave the murderers. Losing only son at this age will not be compensated by any money given as Qasas / compensation / whatever you call it.
The aggressor party was very strong, I am sure this would be a combination of monetary benefit and threats. Similar to the carrot and stick policy adopted by 'stronger' countries.

I am outraged at this decision. What was the need for his family to run such strong campaigns on social media when they knew that they will bow to pressure?

guys Please. nobody knows why they did this and under which circumstances, we all know they were getting threats, they have already lost their only son and cant afford to loss anything else....why would do it for money?
Who would want to forgive their child's murderer? They must have received horrendous threats.. They've lost a son and wouldn't want anything bad to happen to any other family member!!
Think how disappointed the family would be.. Having lost a son and a brother and then letting go off the murderer under
God knows what circumstances and then hearing such rude comments from us all!!we all are sitting here and pass our guesses and making them more guilty.
if they have to take the money they will take it earlier they got tht offer many time

if you are upset and angry, show it to state of Pakistan and its pathetic society and corrupt judicial system....and the list goes on and on...but dont yell at parents and the family

In these kind of cases, the victim family is scared and then offered some sweetener. Accept this otherwise your family would face this.
but that is a different logic...and i agree that sahzeb family must be under huge threat....but they did not forgive him for monetary benefits at all..i am sure father must have been told that we will rape your daughter one day if you dont accept the deal...his family faced pressure for 10 months...but could not take more.....

I am not saying that. In the end its pressure, but I am sure the lacuna used would have been diyat (like Raymond Davis).
What about other families? Shazeb's friends and their sisters? They all supported them just to make sure this thing don't happen again.When shahzeb's father knew he would be threatened and he can't defeat the feudals he should not have asked all these people to come on roads and risk their lives.I am not angry with his decision but, i am concerned for others.

well my problem is with reaction of pakistanis (not you) on social media as well as our media
majoirty of them are cursing shahzeb family calling them greedy, deal maker...our medai is so pathetic.....the focus shd be on investigating if shahzeb family is doing it under pressure because that seems to be a logical reality..such type of doubtful qisas cases shd be cancelled by federal courts...if shazeb family today gets 200% protection from state, do you think they will forgive these animals for some crose rs?
again qisas/dayat coming to help powerful!!! or at least that seems to be the case because rich people can make use them to their advantage

he never ran this facebook page..he was not asking people to come on streets
but that is not the point
put yourself in his shoes....you have lost your only son...your daughter will be raped and her husband will be killed...most likely you will be shot dead as well after few months and your fmaily will be on streets...you know pakistani system well....state will support and protect the murderers...
what will you do?

may be the family of Shahzaib was threatened and the parents can't afford to see another family member dead or hurt or raped, so i think this agreement to forgive is a FORCED one! if NOT, the parents are a bigger culprit than SharuKh in my view.
I may not put myself in his shoes but, i can see other families in the same situation as his.Will shahrukh jatoi and others spare them? I know this is not what he wanted i agree with you but still i wished end would be different.

I'm just so angry at this. May Shahzaib rest in peace but all my heartful sympathies is now with the innocent locals who put their lives on risk to protest for a son of rich father.
Now Shahzaib's family's is getting visas to peaceful and just Australia, they'll be living a quiet and comfortable life but what about others? They just pardoned a murderer so he can go out and shoot as many sons he want, rape as many daughters as he please. Yes we must all curse the system but guess what Shahzaib's family is also part of the system. They make this system run!

Keep your rage with yourself. If you are not providing solution, you are part of the gutter (I mean problem).
I was not bad mouthing anyone, I was just mentioning the determination his parents shown time and again. Did all the perils you mentioned above were not perceived by Shahzaib's family when they decided to fight the case?

if Shahzaib's parents wanted so desperately to forgive the murderers, they should NOT have accepted any monies. when the money changes hands, the whole thing stinks. they should have taken the visa to Australia, not both money and visa!
