well..well.....disaster after disaster....by blaming English players so directly, we have ruined our relationship with ECB & whole brit forever...now we better have some proof....i am totally fine with "going offensive" as long as we have solid proof against english players....butt has asked ICC to launch an investigation against english players and that english players have accepted enormous money from bookies (he hard from bookies circles!) ....very serious charges....it was one thing to blame ICC for mishandling the issue and it is a totally separate issue to involve English players.....i am just so disappointed...PCB is trying to save every pakistan player....i also want all conspiracies against Pakistan to be exposed but i dont want the corrupt tola (but & co) to be saved....

I agree with you phoenixdesi.. Butt has proven that he's an idiot time after time but this time its so evident. He can lash back ICC or english media or bookies but not ECB or their players WITHOUT ANY PROOF. Remember that its ECB who offered pak to take their grounds as their home ones. Now we are in a situation where if stupid BUTT leaves Pakistani board or is forced to leave, he'll leave the board in a situation that we'll only have people in the world of cricket who hate us, no one would be liking. And under present circumstances we are in desperate need of some friends.

This thing is getting out of hand. Butt going after ECB instead of tabloid was sort of crazy unless has has some proof (I doubt it). bekaar mein panga lene ki kia zarorat hay ECB or british players say. I highly doubt there will be game tomorrow!

poor strauss wants to give the benefit of the doubt to pakistan before jumping to any conclusions...

everyone was unhappy the way ICC handled the oval case (3rd ODI) and that is what BUTT should have gone after instead of talkin rubbish about english players and speculations among bookies' circles...

Ex-PCB Chairman Khalid Mahmood has a point. One w’d need to possess supernatural knowledge in order to reliably predict what will happen between overs 38-40 (if they are indeed under the spot light) and more importantly who will be batting at the crease during those overs.

The Oval fiasco is UNKNOWN. We do not have exact information anymore regarding what was the lead and what was correct. It was stupid of ICC to make the statements they made. But for there to be a proper CONSPIRACY between ECB and ICC (and BCCI ofcourse? ha) to defame pak cricket.. COME ON !!!!

i.e. Pak cricketers may have been involved in spot-fixing in the past (Lord's etc.) but I w'd be very surprised if something tangible came out of the oval accusation

I would also blame PCB's weak leadership and sheer incompetency here. It is because of weak management that we seem to be an easy target for everyone. I do not think ICC w'd have handled the whole thing the way they did it if a strong personality like Majid Khan had been the PCB chairman
That is ofcourse not saying that I believe that Pak players are always completely innocent

Asif.. I'd be surprised too... just weeks after the Lords drama.. it would be incredibly bold if true.. I wouldn't bet on it right now.

If it all comes out false then its just the stupid media milking the issue.
well i said this before and i will repeat again....no player would dare doing anything like this in his right mind 3 weeks after the lords drama except if he has been blackmailed or threatened....if mazhar majeed was correct then some of the paki players have been doing this for last 2 or 3 years and may very well be susceptible to threats (threats to them or their family members or their videos being released) from bookies....i am not sure how many of you know this but wasim akram's father was actually kidnapped by bookies to pressurize akram and co....once you commit a deal with bookies, you are in trouble for rest of your life...

Just heard Butt's interview on radio and he has denied that he has accused the English players of cheating and he has also said he has no proof against any of them. what he said was that there are rumours among bookies that englnad threw the third ODI last friday.
