but if the ICC did receive info regarding this pattern..and it went ahead and happened.. I do not blame them for suspecting Pak batters more than the English bowlers.

I haven't been following this story to the details...so can anyone fill me in? Were the Pakistan cricket players involved in match fixing? Were the tapes real?

Sep 16: Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt has flown to India to seek support of the Indian board in a bid to stop the possible isolation of the Pakistan cricket in the world.
Sep 19: PCB indirectly hints towards BCCI for its isolation

Butt sahib gave BCCI 3 days to fix everything and get him out of jail (similar to the Oval drama a few yrs ago?).... 3 day notice ran out.. and he blames BCCI indirectly for conspiring Pak's isolation :))

The question that every Pakistani should ask themselves (with regards to what BUTT is alleging) : What is so special about Pakistan that the whole world appears to be conspiring against them ?
The first step to solve a problem is to acknowledge that a problem exists. Alas, the concept is unheard of in Pakistan.
I dont think anyone is denying that problem is there BUT there always is a RIGHT WAY to solve the problem.
For example on ICC part, can believe they are saying "we tried to contact Mr.Butt on cell phone but he was unavailable" oh really? there is no other # to reach pcb? no email? no nothing?

Decent.. ICC's handling of this recent 3rd ODI was definitely faulty.
But PCB's hasn't been the best either. At least they are consistent.

I totally agree...
Decent.. ICC's handling of this recent 3rd ODI was definitely faulty.
But PCB's hasn't been the best either. At least they are consistent.

Let me turn the table around, someone found out that England bowlers will let Pakistan score 7 runs in some over and instead told SUN (or may be they changed the info) and told ICC that Pakistan will score 7 runs, that could happen too. Its easy for the bowling side to give away known amount of runs than for batting side to score certain amount of runs in a specific over.

After the first spot-fixing drama (which is yet to be proved), I was angry at the players even though nothing yet has been proved against them.
But after this latest episode, there is no doubt left in my mind that a very well planned smear campaign is being carried against Pakistan cricket.
Pakistan should give a very loud and clear message to those who are behind all this, that if we go down, you are going down with us.
Our media should take it as a national duty to investigate these matters and counter it with full fury. Attack is the best defense, as they say.

Yes there are certain things that need to be fixed in Pakistan cricket but that does not mean every team other than Pakistan doesn't have similar problems, its probably just that they haven't been 'stinged' yet.

I think you missed my point. All I said there was that IF the ICC did receive a certain scoring pattern in Paks inning.. I can understand why they would suspect Pak batters more than Eng bowlers.
If it was NZ vs SA then I would suspect whoever was bowling more because as you rightly say it is easier for the bowlers to control.
But in this case.. since Pak is involved.. I am sorry to say that the first finger will be pointed at the Pak batters... because recent revelations from this very summer have proved that corruption is rampant in Pak cricket and its set up itself. This is IF you have to start pointing fingers at somebody. I am of the opinion that just stfu and get more information before starting your allegations.
The ICC messed up making a vague statement like they did.

I know what you are saying, I am only saying the reason Pakistan was alleged because it will be easily/blindly accepted immediately as the criminal party to further kick the falling party instead of bringing Eng into the mud.

Captain ofcourse that shudnt happen.. ICC has said they are investigating they have not alleged anyone yet thankfully.. Pak cant be CONVICTED just cuz of sumthing in the news..
Whats troubling is that now the English media are going to milk this whole Pak corrupt cricket issue to the max. Media is media afterall.
