When I was living alone (the period when I didn’t have a live-in maid…i mean girl friend), JWs knocked on my door. I was lonely, drunk and wanted to have fun so I invited them inside my apartment, they got scared and dropped the literature and ran away (they didnt come inside, maybe it was the booze on my breath at 10:00 in the morning from the prvious night).

sometimes you just have to be rude and act like you didn't see them if they try to offer you a bible on the street or just walk right past them and mumble a "no thanks". it's really hard to get rid of them when they come to your home...i stopped answering the door when they rang the doorbell and after a while i guess they got the hint so they stopped coming.

I live in England and altho i can say NO to you coz i know you’re kidding but you wont BELIEVE some of the situations iv got myself into by just being unable to say NO, trust me - my friends call me stupid. But i dont wana hurt anyone.

your like my mum, she used to invite them into the house and give them tea and Samosay, i had to translate what they were saying sometimes, i used to lie and pretend they wanted to convert to Islam.

When you can't say no, don't you feel dishonest??
That may be a way to look at it so you would have to say it.
Just because you say no, doesn't mean you are rude, you can say no very nicely. I always say I am very happy with my faith and I am not interested, thank you.
It works, haven't been bothered in a while.

Mem Saab - respectfully, if you are not interested in another religion/man/task/etc.etc. and you don't tell someone that, then you are being dishonest with the other person. Not lying, dishonest. You can be respectful and polite and decline something. It is a part of maturity to be straight with others, they will still like you and respect you because they know your boundaries.
Since you do not lie, then think of it that way just to give yourself more strength or as someone already mentioned you will be a doormat and create more problems for yourself in the long run.
