FYI: Salman has a Ph.D from Punjab University Lahore; and Ali got graduated from Sydney, Australia; and yes they do know English.

As for Brain, he used to be a friend of Salman during High Schcool in Queens, New York.

Band was formed in Karachi :D

ehh, can't say im a big fan. saw them in chicago. my head hurt, and the old guy singing must seriously have been drunk or something. no normal 50 yr old would spin around like that. the only good song was...mast qalander?

Man, you sound like confused :mudhosh:

The Moderator ???

Watch ur back dude :hehe:

What’s that gotta do with watching my back? :stuck_out_tongue:

naaaaa!
u read this rumor from the paki newspaper?

i think this shudn't happen

Cuz they r really doing great!!

:k: Junoon !!!

To 714 and clearing up any rumours...

This is just a rumour. Brian, Ali and Salman are together in Karachi right now and working on an English album which is to be released in Spring. They also have a song coming out for the Cricket world cup real soon. They just recently performed in Islamabad infront of thousands of fans!

714, I was at the Chicago concert too! If you arent into that type of music. Why didnt you just spare yourself for going to the concert. God, I hate people who first go to the concert just because the want to be "in" the desi crowd and then whine about how the dont like the music. Chicago concert was awesome. I was o the stage all the time working with sound support for the band and by the way who are you referring to by the 50 year old?

alibeta-chill alrite. who the hell said i was trying to get in with the desi crowd? why don’t u try to keep arguments to the band and not make it personal just because you think that u are their biggest fan. let me rephrase which chicago concert i was at. Not the one you all went to recently. They were there as entertainment at a conference. I went with my mother to see the entertainment. I had heard the Junoon was awesome. We didn’t stay long. Couldn’t handle it. And anyways, what genre are they supposed to be?'m not quite sure. i don’t know who the 50 yr old was-maybe it was the old man with loong gross dirty gray hair that was jumping around and then spinning in circles again again to try and look cool.

Junoon is an alright band. I really enjoyed their "Azadi" album though. I'm just glad to see a band from Pakistan acheiving so much success around the globe. I respect that a lot. Hopefully they help to inspire and help more Pakistani musicians to acheive that same level of success. I've never seen them live, but if they ever come to my town, I think I would support them.

I like Junoon and actually respect them for the mere fact that they sing “meaningful poetry”. They never depend on formula songs that revolve around a girl. Most pakistani musicians become popular either singing girly lovey dovey songs or punjabi folk tunes. Junoon on the other hand always picked the most difficult lyrics and delivered it from the bottom of the heart. It gives me a high just to see them perform. And mind you, I wasn’t a big fan of them until I got past their loudness. Once I crossed that bridge, it all sunk in.

:k: Junoon!

I had the opportunity to hear them live in concert at Imran Khan;s fund raiser at the Hilton Palmer in 1998 (or was it 1999?). A lot of people did leave but people who stayed got their money’s worth.
