Growing up in Pakistan, Junaid Jamshed](Junaid Jamshed - Wikipedia) was a big household name everywhere–as well as an icon for the youth. He was one of the pioneers of Pop Music in Pakistan with his band Vital Signs. However a couple of years ago Junaid did a complete U turn and turned really religious. He has been regularly going for Tabligh with Tableegi Jammat

I think to make it halal, he needs to sell out his garment business and give the money to poors immediately. And then he should restart his life.

Alternatively he can keep on running the business by just drawing management salary and giving the whole profit to the poors.

first he needs to stop selling silk kurtas for men, drawing management salary for a place that sells stuff that is not allowed is not a very islamic thing to do.
Its like saying he is drawing management salary of a restaurant that serves booze.
secondly, he needs to close the shop, get rid of all proceeds from music business and any profit, interest etc etc that was based on that money.
Then he can talk.
PS: he also needs to compensate artists whose music he stole.

These tableeghi jamat people put too much emphasis on their religious duties often ignoring their other duties. One of my college teacher left his student halfway through the academic year for a four months tableeghi visit.

The son of one of my cusions - a brilliant student refused to study medical education after coming under talbeelghies influence.

According to him, the modern medical education was shortlived and that he wanted become an aalim. Only when his father become sick and sad, he went to the medical college.

What an idiot of a teacher, by Islam he had to fulfill his responsibility to his students.
I've met too many TJ's like this, some are good and balance Deen and Duniya but there's others who have made these 40 day and sometimes a lot longer yaatras almost equivalent to Hajj.
I'm all for Deen but these people who only put emphasis on sitting in a corner of the Mosque doing Namaaz, Rozey, Zikr and Tilaawat all day are destroying the future of the Islamic-Ummah and Pakistan.
Worship is important but Islam teaches a balance between life and spirituality, earning an honest legit living by sweat of the brow is also worship in Islaam.
I shouldn't judge but I think some of them only go on these Yaatras for a vacation and to get away from their responsibilities.

If he’s serious he should get rid of all his Haraam wealth from his music career by giving it away to charity, he needs to stop earning more Haraam wealth by selling silk dresses for men (as silk is forbidden for males) and he needs to find himself a nice Halaal career and start from scratch.

Man you should first understand that if we perform all our duties according to the teaching of Islam it is deen not other duty and as we are lacking in faith,EEMAN and belief in God and hence we are not performing our duties well when there will be DEEN in every walk of life there will be calm and no tentions therefore, there is need to learn and practice DEEN in the environment of MOSQUES and people who are pleasing God, to criticise is easy but to be Perfect is difficult, So don,t criticize bcz these persons come from our dirty environment and struggling to be DEEN in their and all people lives, May God bless them.
