Jumma, Mangal and Sunday!

‘Kuch aath ke, kuch kaath ke, Kuch thaath ke, Kuch teen sau saath ke’ represents frequency of different worshipers in a Muslim society.

aath (8) ke = Those who offer prayers and visit Masjid on Juma (Fridays)

kaath ke = mean who are built-in nature to pray

thaath ke = those who offer prayers not for God, but for others (show-off) or may be those who visits masjid when they need thaath wali life

teen so saath (360) = Eid prayers only

Likewise, Mangal is probably considered shubh for prayers.. (SRK goes to Mandir in KKHH every Tuesday)

Sunday services in a church gets more attendants.

Do you know any important days, occasions in different cultures / religions where people remember their creator?

Re: Jumma, Mangal and Sunday!

Thanksgiving is a religious occasion?

Re: Jumma, Mangal and Sunday!

Synagogue on Saturday.

Re: Jumma, Mangal and Sunday!

in a way yes...they don't go to the Church on that day but lavish food is served over which they say 'thanks' to the Lord for providing them with bounties. this happens right after the harvest season...on the second Monday in October.

poor turkeys get slaughtered in huge numbers. even non-Christians [including some Muslims] prepare turkey that day to treat their relatives and friends who gather in the evening.

Thanksgiving is a statuary [gazetted] holiday in Canada and the US but in the US it is celebrated in November for some reason.

Re: Jumma, Mangal and Sunday!

Don't think Thanksgiving can be termed a 'christian' day.

Re: Jumma, Mangal and Sunday!

in Thanksgiving who is being thanked?

Re: Jumma, Mangal and Sunday!

God, of course! :)

as i said, people don't go to church but they offer thanks to God at lavish dinners/supper.

since non-Christians also celebrate [in a way] because it's a holiday and it's a perfect time for the families members to get together and have good time. some of them also prepare turkey.

Thanksgiving is one of the holidays [first after summer vacations] when the travel is at it's peak. airlines hike fares and there is a spike on the travel chart.

Re: Jumma, Mangal and Sunday!

ghareeb molvi ik din meetha kha lega to aap ko uss se bhi takleef hai :nahi:

Re: Jumma, Mangal and Sunday!

metha he khana ha tou apnay Kharchay Par bi Khaya ja sakta ha. Aj kal k mullah sub say ameer han. Lagta ap ka vasta nhe para, ya ap khud Halvai han.

Re: Jumma, Mangal and Sunday!

Those who are ameer don’t wait for others to present them with halwa. Many molvis in rural areas still live the same life as depicted in Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi’s short story "Al-Hamd o Lillah’.

Qasmi Kahani (Al-Hamdulillah Part-I)- 28th March 2014

kal jumaraat hai, aaram se beth kar dekhna.. phir baat karenge
