whenever i try to save any pic in my computers…whether its jpeg.gif etc…windows saves it in BMP format..why is that…how can i repair this issue?also how to do chkdisk utility?>
Do you have a little hammer and a screw driver?

When saving an image file make sure "save as type" is jpeg/gif etc.
To runs check disk utility go to start and Run (shortcut: press win+R) and type "chkdsk".

(first ten numbers/letters/dots combination).

i was using internet explorer 8 and then i tried 6 to check whether its work or not as eisx said ...but still:(

well, i suggest then DIFFERENT as in .. NOT explorer ... like firefox or chrome..

How are you saving the file?? Do you do a print screen and paste it in some application? Second, how do you know the files are in BMP format? Is it because they just open in the graphic viewer application that comes with windows?
Third, what are you trying to do with the graphics that you save and then what do you do with them when you retrieve them?
