I dont know if we have a thread on this before, however my family relatives especially bhabis and sisters want ideas on jokes to play on the dulha on my wedding day which is not far off now inshallah. I cant believe july is just round the corner. i dont know what they will do and it doesnt worry me either drastically. However they wanted me to post this thread and get ideas for them. So your help is required please.

lol, I did something similar to my best friend's fiance, who is also my cousin.
I made a paste with looaads laal mirch, salt, and haldi. Then I made a slit in a gulab jaman and managed to stuff the paste inside...When the poor guy ate it haha he shot up and was jumping around the whole room hehe.
Then my sister in law gave him water to cool his mouth down...only it wasn't plain water it was vinegar water lol.
But yeah it was funny, but very mean as well. Because he's too sensitive to spices, and he ended up getting ulcers in his mouth. (the wedding was two weeks later in Pakiland - so luckily he recovered by then :) )
Also, were giving him his gifts at the mehndi (cuz we didn't get to go to the shaadi in Pakistan).
His first gift we wrapped in like a million layers of newspaper - and then one outside layer of gift wrapping paper to make it look pretty...
So he ended up tearing and tearing and tearing through all these layers, and he FINALLY gets to the box (which was an old shoe box).
But the shoe box we had taped up VERY tightly, so he pretty much had to tear the box open too.
Lo and behold the "present" was a raggedy old photo album (the ones you get for free with photos) to put his wedding photos in, a diaper for their future baby, and some tasbeeh for when they get old and do more zikr.
hehe it was a laugh!
Then after that we gave him his real presents, but he was too scared to open them up :)
lol thats hilarious we didnt do the newspaper wrapping thing but we had lots of laughs too at the wedding... once we set a poond(some sort of a fly.. stings very bad) into the dulha dulhan's room and the dulha my cousin got stung and he ran out of the room crying ! that was hilarious ..
omg that is soooo funny! with my chacha's my mum mum n my other chachas wives etc they put glitter in the bride n grooms bed! next mornin chacha walked out with glitter all ova him!
Totally agree with this. Whilst others may find the pranks funny, the in-laws may not be so amused. If someone fed my husband chillies, salt, mendhi and whatnot, I would be really annoyed and upset. I don’t find it funny at all. I would probably go hunt them down and give them a few slaps:bummer:
Keep it civil; you don’t want your prank to cause offence or hurt someone unintentionally
please dont play any pranks that can make things go sour. shaadi time and larkay walas are complicated as it is. keep it simple and funny.
I agree! Do be careful on how drastic the prank is. At my cousins wedding the boys played such a prank that the dulhay waley never forgave us and those boys in my family heard it for a long time from the elderly..Lets just say what they did was not even a good plan..STUPID!
Some cool ideas:
I like the fake ladoo idea some ppl have on here where you make a ladoo with some mirchi in it..a very funny one that was played at my friends mehndi was that they had one of the dulhan walay's male cousin dress up in a green salwar kameez and cover his head with a dupatta..he sat down with the groom, it was super funny. He acted all sharmili under his dupatta..he wouldn't look towards the groom or answer his questions or talk with him..about ten minutes later they played this old funny Indian song loudly and the male cousin dressed as the "dulhan" jumped up from where he sat and threw off his dupatta and started dancing like funny..The groom at first thought it was his to be wife and almost had a heart attack but the room was in stitches for half an hour...of course the bride came out 2 minutes later..
Another trick you can play but is risky that I just came up with off the top of my head is if you have boxed gifts at the wedding to put them in the bride/grooms getaway car as soon as possible and make the groom think his gifts are stolen..let him think this only for a little while then tell him you hid them in their car setting him at ease soon. Okay, just an idea..
Oh an even better idea is this: Take his car keys for the geatway vehicle and hide the car. Make sure the groom knows where the car is supposed to be parked and have one of the dulhan walay show him the get away vehicle and tell him after the wedding he is to seat his bride first and then sit so as to have a "smooth" rukhsathi so he doesn't have to search for his car as he "knows" where it is. When the shaadi is over, the car is not there setting him in panic. After about two minutes, have someone drive the same car by him fast and act as if they are taking it then come back again telling him and his family that it was a joke. This one is also risky as the dulhas parents may not like it but you have to really know them well to know how much they would mind this type of joke. I think my jokes are extreme but I just came up with them..
Yeah def. don't do anything extreme!
The mirchi idea would've been extreme for us had it not been my cousin, I suppose! So I guess I was a representative from both the larhki side and the larhka side.
I'd say keep it simple and cute :)
Phooljhari - hahahahaha classic! (your cousin dressing up as the dulhan) lollll
The idea I gave with the alarm clocks I do not think is extreme, but I guess a lot of it depends on the sense of humour of the bride and groom and their families.
Pranks such as making the groom walk home from his own mendhi are extreme. Or even worse kidnapping the groom right before the wedding and phoning the bride asking for ransom. Yes, I have actually seen this happen.
@phooljari786 The story about your cousin dressing up as the dulan is hilarious. :D
the alarm clock idea *is *extreme and really, really annoying! imagine being so tired and yes, its very tiring being a dulhan especially in your heavy-ass dress, sitting up on stage, and then you come back to your room to relax and have some private time and alarm clocks keep going off?? and dont most people do a rasm or a something the next day anyway for the bride and groom? you dont want the poor people to be exhausted and sleepless!
