please dont play any pranks that can make things go sour. shaadi time and larkay walas are complicated as it is. keep it simple and funny.
couldn't agree more!!!
and the complications done on shaadi day is remmebered through out the life!! so if u want ur sis/friend to be happy... plz dont play anything which can turn sour!!! anything can happen!! my Khalo still taunts my khala.... how sisters didn't ask for money after serving him dood and meethai!! :S
Pranks should be done at the mehndi.......that way it's a little more relaxed. And yeah the traditional ideas are good. My cousins are putting a hard boiled egg inside a gulab jamun (you have to cook it like that)....
i would be really pissed off if anyone did these!! the only ones that are cute are the unda in gulab jamun and the glitter...even those are annoying...but seriously i think it's cheap to sacrifice the groom's or bride's comfort and lifetime memories for just a few moments of laughter.
My husband's friends did the alarm clock thing at a friend's wedding and after the bride and groom went inside their hotel room, the alarms started going off every 20-30 mins. They had hidden different clocks under the bed, in the closet, bathroom, etc etc. The couple was not very happy.
Honestly, if any of my friends did that, I will be very, very pissed off and not even speak to them again. First, you're exhausted after a series of events and the long days/nights, second, your wedding night is always very special. It's time for the couple to be with each other and if anyone tries to ruin those moments with their stupid pranks then that is extremely immature, thoughtless and rude on their part. If people MUST play pranks then do them on mayun or mehndi when everyone is not so stressed out and enjoying themselves but even then it should be done within limits. Wedding receptions should be more civilized and intimate.
During our wedding time, my husband was pelted with eggs by his friends during a dholak party when they came to do the rasm with the mithai and money. They came up one by one and crushed an egg on his head. I thought it was the funniest thing ever!
The other thing those hoodlums did which even I thought was funny was that after the rukhsati, I'm sitting in the hotel room with his mom and sister and friend's wives, and they refuse to let him in to the room. They're standing outside and pretended that they had to give him something (like car keys or some gift), and they barricaded him from the room. They were taping the whole thing and it's funny watching my husband in his sherwani getting all flustered and them making jokes. They let him in after twenty minutes, lol.
i dont know many jokes but keep it funny! i think all of those food jokes are stupid esp giving mehndi in the mouth and causing ulcers on someones tongue....dont involve food cuz u never know what someone is allergic too and u dont want that person sick on thier wedding day and also nothing that can ruin thier clothes ....thats not funny!!!!!!!!!!
My mamu had done pranks on his own walima ^^
Actually it was my mamu’s and mami’s idea.
When everybody was there b4 the eating, I played the song : SHAADI KARKE PHAAS GAYA YAAR from Judaai and from SKPGY .
Then my mamu and my shaadi-shudaa cousins started dancing on this song.
Every1 was shocked for few minutes then my mami started dancing when the girl starts singing : “shaadi se pehle to baatein bari karte hain” then all the girls followed her.
It was too funny coz my mami’s mom also danced with her hubby.
My mum told me when my parents got married and after the rukhsati when the bride waits for the groom in the room, my taya (dad's older bro) got my mom's dupatta and his sister's lehnga etc and sat with a big ghoonghat while they hid my mum in the washroom :=D
On my mamoo's wedding, we got boxes full of sweets and toffees in pak and wrapped those up and gave after dhood pilai to mammi's sisters. they opened their presents all excitedly and it was hilarious.
we got a full big wooden sheet(phatta) under our bedsheet when we came back home for maklawa..it was all my sister's idea. poor hubby had a bruised butt since he fell onto to the bed to relax as soon as the door was closed :D
