If she is wearing skirt as a uniform, I assume it's a non-Islamic airline, that means she has to serve Alcohol as well which to me is the bigger issue than the dress code.

^Emirates is an arab airline (therefore I assume owned by Muslims), they still have skirts as part of their uniform... not sure if they serve alcohol or not.

She should refuse if dress code is inappropriate. Ask her to try applying in Malaysian Airlines with current offer letter. They got all the muslim dresses and scarf as well. It is 5-star airline.

Being air hostess is a tiring job. She will face humiliating incidents when abroad. I know couple of Emirates stewards and hostesses. Lots of vulgarity and Ayashi....even in PIA too.

I think most of the airlines of Muslim countries do serve alcohol, otherwise foreigners and business passengers esp would choose not to fly with them.. Emirates and Gulf Air both have skirts as part of their uniform, am sure they aren't the only ones..

I mean the attitude of colleagues. Do you remember recent incident when PIA pilot called the air hostess to bring him food with Jan-e-man kind of thing. The mic was on and all passengers heard and agitated :)

Mirch, but most airlines from Muslim countries will also serve alcohol if a passenger asks..

If serving alcohol to non-Muslims is an issue couldn't you say the same about working in a restaurant or even a supermarket? What about working in a bank dealing with riba? Aren't they all bad as well..

That does not make it permissible to serve alcohol for a Muslim man or woman . Does it ?
Only if my kids were dying of hunger then I will opt for this profession that too temporarily and keep on looking for some halal way of paying my bills.
