Amazing defense. You are a step ahead of Ikram Sheikh, the guy who engineered the qatari letter.
Re: JIT , Mulzam , Nawaz Shareef Haziir ho #ملزم_نوازشریف_حاضرہو
Having considered matters, this is a politically motivated case where JIT is clutching at straws to make case in order to pressurise Nawaz Sharif. Strangely in the JIT you had 2 military intelligence agencies calling the shots, besides 2 other people known to have links with PTI or Musharraf. You had 1 judge that had links with Musharraf. You had 2 other judges that made biased remarks against PM which indicates their mindset and indicated army support for this witch hunt.
No crime has been discovered other than making a political case, creating a media trial and giving their opinion on matters that are not even in Pakistan’s jurisdiction.
If the same approach is taken then you find 95% of the Pakistani public guilty including Tv anchors, Generals, Judges, Businessmen and Civil Servants.

OMG! Just a bloody font got so mcuh debate. If there is an issue, Microsoft can be approached for any legal defense by PML(N). Nahi?
Re: JIT , Mulzam , Nawaz Shareef Haziir ho #ملزم_نوازشریف_حاضرہو
actually JIT have based their case on the font!! according to them Sharifs are guilty and prove is the font…yeah thats the main evidence
Re: JIT , Mulzam , Nawaz Shareef Haziir ho #ملزم_نوازشریف_حاضرہو
Then isn’t it easy for PML(N) to defend main premises against them, as some people here could easily rebut the font point. On some webistes, it is being claimed that trail version of windows / office supporting calibri was manufactured in November 2006 and therefore any such version could be accesible by public from November 2006 and onwards till it was commercially released in 2007. However, docuemnts have signature dated February 2006. Only Microsoft authorities can clarify the position.
Re: JIT , Mulzam , Nawaz Shareef Haziir ho #ملزم_نوازشریف_حاضرہو
exactly!
The JIT report is not a decision and to me they miserably failed to produce any evidence…
they askef the lawyer in London but didnt get helpful reply, they went to Dubai Port Authority and said no report on transport of Machines or anything…whereas Sharifs claim was that Gulf Steel was in Sharjah and they produced papers from customs from Sharjah Customs…
lastly, with agencies like ISI and MI I was waiting for some irrefutable evidence…instead i am been fed by some lousy font story or custom or opinions…
and these lousy stories was the cause of losses of some Rs 300 billion… i dont mind loosing 1000 billion as long as things are transparent and Just…
If a average Joe like me and challenge and refute these “evidences” imagine what the legal experts will do to it..
Re: JIT , Mulzam , Nawaz Shareef Haziir ho #ملزم_نوازشریف_حاضرہو
You are doing a good job of tossing dust in the air in trying to smother everyone’s view.
The font issue was raised only for the trust deeds Maryam presented, in her attempt to show her has the trustee and not the beneficial owner. Even if for arguments sake, it is agreed that somehow they managed to get their hands on the beta version of Calibri in 2004, still the fact remains that there are tons of other evidences in the JIT apart from that
.
The Dubai steel mill, which Sharifs showed as the source of the funds and machinery for Jeddah steel mill, has been refuted by the UAE ministry of justice. The mill was in a loss, so selling it did not net any money. Tariq Shafi did not get 12 million as he claimed. The mill machinery was not transferred to Jeddah in 2002 as claimed according to UAE ministry of justice. Now if you are implying that the UAE govt is lying on its official govt letter, then that is for you to explain.
Sharifs need to spin a new story fast, as the SC is meeting on Monday.
And according to reports, Wikipedia has received so many requests to edit the wiki page of the calibri font that they have blocked the page from all edits. No prizes for guessing which group was making the edits.
Re: JIT , Mulzam , Nawaz Shareef Haziir ho #ملزم_نوازشریف_حاضرہو
Let me try to solve ‘Calibri Font’ problem (Please read and understand the issue):
What I believe, Baighairat Haramkhor submitted some documents related to Gulf Steal Mill (UAE), belonging to Sharif family.
In 1974, Mill was set up in Dubai. Since Sharif business was family business (in Pakistan or abroad), 75 percent shares were in the name of Mian Sharif and 25 percent shares were in the name of Muhammad Hussain (Phoopa of Thug Nawaz).
After the death of Muhammad Hussain (father of Tariq Shafi), 25 percent shares got passed to Tariq Shafi (first cousin of Thug Nawaz)
In 1978, Mian Sharif sold his 75 percent shares to Khyed Ahli. Proceed (AED 28.5 million) was used exclusively to settle the debt and outstanding liabilities on the Mill.
In 1980, Mian Sharif disassociated himself from Gulf steel (most probably, because company was still going on loss). … It should be noted that Mian Sharif at that time held no shares in Gulf steel, but Tariq Shafi held 25 percent shares. As head of family business, Sharif was responsible of Gulf steel Mill losses too (even though Tariq Shafi on paper was owner), but I believe, since company was going on heavy loss, Sharif withdrew that unwritten liabilities (leaving Tariq Shafi to face any music of losses if it comes).
Facing questioning in Pakistani court after his Pajama got leaked, haramkhor Thug brought in Tariq Shafi into loop, creating a story for money trail.
Thug Nawaz and his team ‘produced document’ that in 1980, Tariq Shafi sold that 25 percent shares for AED 12 million … and Mian Sharif (as head of family business) invested that AED 12 million with Qatari (Qatari came into loop) … who returned them that AED 12 million plus profit to Mian Sharif, who passed that on to his grandson … son (Alhamdulillah, may haramkhor hoon) of Thug Nawaz.
It should be noted that Qatari was absent from all past stories, but when pressure came, not only Qatari was brought in, but a document was produced that Tariq Shafi sold his 25 percent shares for AED 12 million … that Mian Sharif invested with Qatari, who returned the investment to Mian Sharif that was passed to son of Thug Nawaz.
Thug Nawaz also claimed that, since Gulf Mill got bankrupt they took the machinery of the Mill as scrap to set up new Mill in Saudia.
Worse is that, Thug Nawaz produced a document dated 1980 that Tariq Shafi sold 25 percent shares and received AED 12 million, that I believe was produced in ‘Calibri’ font.
I think, that is what JIT team referred, that … when they saw official document dated 1980 produced by Haramkhor Thug was in Calibri font … and since Calibri font was not in any use of Official documents prior tp 2007, they decided to find truth of these documents, Hence they wrote letters and went to Dubai, to find the authenticity of these documents.
In process of their investigation with Dubai authority, JIT team found that, Gulf steel (that was later known as Ahli steel) went bankrupt with huge liabilities. Tariq Shafi never sold his 25 percent shares, rather, due to bankruptcy of Guld (Ahli) Steel Mill with huge liability, Tariq Shafi became liable of around AED 10 million, but he ran away and was absconder facing criminal charges in Dubai. [Criminal charges on Tariq Shafi got settled once Thug Nawaz became Prime Minister and negotiated or paid liabilities on Tariq Shafi}.
Anyhow, Dubai authorities told ‘JIT’ that Tariq Shafi never sold those 25 percent shares, rather mill became liability instead of asset, and being owner of 25 percent shares, Tariq Shafi became liable to pay creditors around AED 10 million. Further, no money (AED 12 million or any money) was sent by Tariq Shafi or any person belonging to Sharif family from Dubai to anywhere.
That means, claim of Haramkhor that AED 12 million was sent to Qatar for investment … was Lie, as neither funds were available to invest neither money was sent to Qatari … hence all claims regarding Qatari is Lie.
That is the reason … Qatari statement became meaningless … and probably that is why Qatari did not wanted to come anywhere Pakistani courts jurisdiction exists. Because, if Qatari had made statement on oath in front of Pakistani courts (or even in front of JIT as extended hand of Pakistani court) and court had found that it was lie, than Qatari would have gone to prison on charges of perjury. Actually, even he escapes after statement, and court convicts him of perjury than whenever he would have landed in Pakistan, he could be sent to prison.
Now coming to ‘Font’ problem: Use of Font did not made Haramkhor guilty, but due to Calibri Font, JIT decided to investigate Dubai originated documents submitted by Haramkhor as suspicious (as they were dated, early 1980s), hence they investigated and found submitted documents as fake (confirmed by Dubai authorities).
As mentioned above, I believe document JIT is talking about is document Haramkhor submitted, dated 1980s, claiming that Tariq Shafi sold his 25 percent shares and received AED 12 million. These documents was (supposed to be) issued by Dubai authorities.
**Once JIT found that these documents (dated 1980s) using ‘Calibri Font’ could not be real, they contacted Dubai authorities (even when stamps of Dubai authority were on documents) … and thus from their investigation, JIT learned that these documents were fake, because Dubai authorities never issued these documents.
**
From here, JIT also confirmed that 25 percent shares of Gulf steel was worthless (rather, was liability) on Tariq Shafi … and instead of clearing liabilities, Tariq Shafi absconded, and thus became wanted in Dubai (until NS from corruption money, cleared Tariq Shafi liabilities). So … no money to invest in Qatar … what Haramkhor claimed … and thus Qatari became irrelevant.
**
So, now for those making issue and fuss on JIT statement that they found Calibri used in document submitted, forget 2007 (even thought that is right too, as no official documents used Calibri Font before 2007). To make any fuss, bring proof that Calibri Font was used in 1980 by Dubai authorities or not? [Even though that would not help too, as Duabi authorities have already confirmed that documents submitted by Haramkhor were forgery, criminal and fake]**
Re: JIT , Mulzam , Nawaz Shareef Haziir ho #ملزم_نوازشریف_حاضرہو
FontGate is about the trust deeds Maryam claimed to have had since 2003 or 2004.
Re: JIT , Mulzam , Nawaz Shareef Haziir ho #ملزم_نوازشریف_حاضرہو
Well, you could be right … Haramkhor submitted ony few documents,
Dubai sale document of Gulf Mill, and receiving of AED 12 million. … This document was backbone of their defence.
Another document they submitted was Maryam trust deeds … you are right.
Since dubai document had Dubai authorities stamp, Haramkhor thought that JIT would not investigate. But JIT did not only investigated, they went to Dubai authorities to confirm these documents (and to their horror, found that all these documents were forged documents, never issued and stamped by Dubai authorities).
That is why I believe that JIT confirming that document is forgery or not, JIT may have got the idea because these documents are of 1980s and thus Calibri fond could not be used on these documents.
Re: JIT , Mulzam , Nawaz Shareef Haziir ho #ملزم_نوازشریف_حاضرہو
2 things
Font issue is of document which was signed in 2006 and not in 1980…i duobt if there were computers and Windows or laser printers back in 80s
you are right, no record of Gulf Steel with Dubai…because Gulf Steel was in Sharjah, which like Dubai have its own Customs, Police and Trade departmets/law/ministries…
and your precious JIT was looking for the record in Dubai…which was never their to start with…
Re: JIT , Mulzam , Nawaz Shareef Haziir ho #ملزم_نوازشریف_حاضرہو
Ahli Steel Company (previously Gulf Steel mill) is in Dubai.
And Sharjah may have local departments, but the laws they follow are national laws. All police, customs and trade legislations are made at the national level.
Your defense is atrocious…not to mention, desperate.
Re: JIT , Mulzam , Nawaz Shareef Haziir ho #ملزم_نوازشریف_حاضرہو

Al Qasmi Family was partners in Gulf Steel who are rulers of sharjah and not dubai…

PM’s cousin gave 12m dirhams to Qatari ruling family
Nasir IqbalUpdated January 29, 2017
ISLAMABAD: One of the prime minister’s cousins, in an affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court bench hearing the Panamagate case, has claimed that he deposited 12 million dirhams in cash with the Qatari ruling family following the sale of the Gulf Steel Mills in 1980.
In an affidavit dated Jan 20, 2017, which is also part of the concise statement submitted by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s son Hussain, Tariq Shafi stated that he had deposited the massive sum with Sheikh Fahad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al-Thani of Qatar, after receiving each instalment from Mohammad Abdullah Kayed Ahli.
Mr Ahli was the owner of the Ahli Steel Company, Dubai, of which Mr Shafi held 25pc shares. Following an agreement on April 14, 1980 between the two, the shares were sold and a net aggregate sum of 12m dirhams was received by Mr Shafi over the course of the year 1980.
The sum was deposited with the Al-Thani family on the instructions of his uncle, the late Mian Mohammad Sharif, the prime minister’s father.
At the time, Fahad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al-Thani was frequently in Dubai in connection with his business concerns and received the cash payment.
This is the second affidavit, the first being filed on Nov 12, 2016, where Mr Shafi has been shown as the owner of all Sharif family businesses in Dubai.
In the affidavit, Mr Shafi stated that Mian Sharif had made him a partner/shareholder in Gulf Steel out of love and affection in 1974, when he was only 19 years old.
In his concise statement, Hussain Nawaz had claimed that his grandfather, Mian Sharif, had told him that the late Sheikh Jassim bin Jabber Al-Thani had retained 12m dirhams and had assured the elder Sharif of a just and equitable return on the amount, as and when required.
Mian Sharif had also told Hussain, the statement claimed, that he had asked the Al-Thani family to consider Nawaz Sharif’s eldest son as the beneficiary of that amount. The grandfather had also informed Hussain that during his lifetime, he had been in touch with the Al-Thani family from time to time, including the late Sheikh Jassim bin Jabber Al Thani — who passed away in 1999 — directly and through his son, Sheikh Fahad bin Jassim bin Jabber Al-Thani, the statement said.
After Sheikh Jassim’s death, the statement said, Mian Sharif remained in contact with Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabber Al-Thani — the first foreign dignitary to fly to Pakistan to intercede with retired Gen Pervez Musharraf to respect Nawaz Sharif and his family.
Along with the affidavit, another letter from Sheikh Hamad was also appended, which clarified that in 1980, Mian Sharif had invested approximately 12m dirhams in the real estate business of the Al-Thani family.
This investment was made in cash, which was common practice in the Gulf region at the time and a customary way for them to do business, given the longstanding relationship between his father and Mian Sharif, the letter stated.
Between 2001 and 2003, Hussain’s statement explained, Mian Sharif had arranged $5.41m so he (Hussain) could invest in the Al-Azizia Steel Company Ltd. These funds were transferred by the Al-Thani family at the request of his grandfather, the statement said.
This fact was related to Hussain by Sheikh Hamad’s representative Nasir Khamis at the time of an overall settlement in late 2005, the statement said, adding that the equity injected by his grandfather, along with loans from financial institutions, were utilised to set up the Azizia Steel Manufacturing Plant near Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
The refurbishment of the old steel manufacturing machinery was personally overseen by Mian Aziz, who employed engineering staff from Ittefaq Foundaries in Lahore at the Azizia Steel Company. The Saudi Arabian government, out of regard for the efforts of his grandfather, allowed the conversion of agricultural land for industrial use, where the Azizia steel plant was set up, the concise statement explained.
The steel business was later sold in 2005 for a total consideration of over 63 million Saudi riyals.
In 2005, Sheikh Hamad offered to settle Mian Sharif’s outstanding investment with the Al-Thani family, the statement said.
Subsequently, the representatives of both met in Jeddah, where it was agreed that a cumulative return based on the London Inter Bank Offer Rate (LIBOR), as well as other established international lending rates from 1980 onwards, would be considered payable to the Al-Thani family, along with the principal amount of $3.257 million, the statement said.
Hussain was informed by the Al-Thani family representative that a sum of $8 million had been paid during the year 2000 to the Al-Towfeek Company for investment on the instructions of Mian Sharif, and the same amount was determined payable to Hussain by the Al-Thani family.

This statement got punctured as tota mayna kee kahani full of Lies … because JIT contacted UAE authority to find out the truth of this claim … and here is what JIT got in reply from UAE … please read and learn why Haramkhors got caught pants down.

Disappointed as I thought you would take a much more considered approach rather than just the party line. You are a good contributor and I cannot believe that a person like you believes that there is no evidence.
