Do you believe in being jinxed? Like say something is going to happen, and you tell everyone that it’s going to happen, and the next thing you know, it doesn’t happen. So you say “ok, I got jinxed.”
I know I do. When something’s happening, or I have a plan to go somewhere, I don’t tell ANYONE anything! I’m so deathly afraid of it not coming true. I didn’t used to tell my best friend anything until recently, cuz she’s now jinx-free (it basically means my trust level with her is really high. Also she’s goes shutup what’s wrong with you).
ps let’s keep the discussion light-hearted and stuff shall we? psychological, sociological, anthropological discussions are welcome though.
aana: errmm not exactly. but jinxing could be defined as buri nazar as well.
sara and ume z: i know what you mean. it’s really irrational but it’s there you know another justification for why it happens: because Allah didn’t want me to tell people that.
i’m not talking about bad luck. bad luck’s something totally different. i’m talking about jinx. bad luck happens occasionaly. jinxing happens all the time
agar itni buri nazar hai ke it might kill a person..then buri nazar nahi kaala jado hai..
and all i can say is..whenever something 'big' is going to happen in your life..and u dont want to get buri nazar..then just take out saadqa..

Kalaa jadoo and buree nazar are two different things
One thing is that kalaa jaaddo is pre-planned and intentional
Buree nazar is not pre-planned and may not be intentional
Second, person who performs jaadoo, automatically nullifies his/her eemaan (that is another debate, though)
if one resposible for Buree nazar, that does not nullify his/her islam
