Re: Jinnah: Q & A (merged)

Great post, PP paaji.. but I was little shocked to know Quaid married a parsi lady - a kafir... why? did he not date any muslim woman?? my best guess is that he must have gone on dates with some muslims - but there were not many high-society muslim girls those days matching Quaid's standards and intellect.. My dadajaan actually saw the the great man in Undivided punjab. He recalls a tall lean man wearing three-piece suit in the scorching sun of punjab speaking british english - quaid-e-azam was more british than britishers....

Re: Jinnah: Q & A (merged)

mulz paijaan, I believe she converted before marriage to islam…

Re: Jinnah: Q & A (merged)

Spock putter.. kithay hai tu.. Coincidentally, I came to Ann Arbor some days back yaar. I wanted to go meet you but then we did not have active conversation for such a long time.. you know.. I thought you have moved someher else, man. As per Dina wadia (Quaid’s only child) - who is 80+ yrs old and lives by herself in Manhattan, her mother did not convert.. although I am not sure on this one.. I might be terribly wrong on this one cuz I recenty saw an Indian version on Quaid on DVD.. she was a high society paris woman who was an active paritcipant in the freedom struggle in the initial days but did not do towars the end. Plus after divorce she had been close with Bombay Parsis - almost all of who had sided with the Indian side during parition. I guess I have to do a lot more research on this one.. I will be back with more facts than fiction..lol..

Re: Jinnah: Q & A (merged)

I didnt understand your post completely. If you are talking about Rutti Jinnah, then she never got divorce and if yu are talking about Dina, then I dont think she was involved in much politics before partition. Dina lives in NY and converted to christianity. I think the only time she came to Pakistan was at the death of her father and then for the cricket series.

Re: Jinnah: Q & A (merged)

pp i think mulz is talking baout Dina, and youre right she came to Pak just twice and gave the nation a cold shoulder. She herself received a cold shoulder from her husband few years after their marriage. but his name she still carries and obviously has remained well looked after by his money...sad that for Wadia she left so much and ended up getting divorced...
and Mulz, ruttie did convert to islam and dina was never politically active.
