Jinn stories/encounters

Salam Alaikum everyone,

So the other day i’m just browsing the topic on google, and lo and behold i stumble upon a search on the topic from GupShup. It was from 2006 i believe.

So without reviving a topic that has been thoroughly discussed and buried, i thought we would talk on this issue again. Have you ever had an encounter? How did you protect yourself? What your reaction was? And how are so sure it was a jinn, and not imagination?

Etc..etc…

No folklore please. Personal or Real encounters welcome. The idea is not to get entertained (Although it is a very interesting topic) but rather to share/discuss and learn how to better arm ourselves from such beings which are no doubt existent in a parallel to us on this very earth and often share the space with us.

Thanks everybody.

Re: Jinn stories/encounters

I am not sure if it was a Jin or my imagination .. i was 5 years old and just walking through my street to another house. It was dark (close to isha time) door of one of the house was open and a curtain was hanging at the door.

there was a human shadow dancing (wiggling) on the curtain .. I could see from the side of the curtain into the house and there was nobody there and no one out on the street but me. I got scared and ran back to my house ...

I read ayat al kursi jub mujhey dur lagta hai.

This happen in Pakistan..my sis in law told me this when we were there on holiday. There is that house opposite of us who was empty for many years, they say that this house was hunted by ghost. One day a neighbour she heard noises and people singing she thought that there was someone mehendi that they were singing and clapping. So she goes upstair to her chad to look and she saw that this house who was empty was that noises and singing she rushed downstairs locked all the door and coverd her with a blanket. That house is still empty but i saw people working there so maybe someone will live there i don't know. There lived people in that house but they did lots of Qur'an namaaz so they say that this house isn't hounted anymore

Re: Jinn stories/encounters

I do not know what you would consider my experience. Maybe a brief psychotic episode.

I was in 5th grade, and we had just moved homes. I’m sleeping in a bed that now maybe I’ve been sleeping in for the past 6 mo, and its the middle of the night. For some reason, I woke up, and when I sat up in bed, the entire room was lit up red. Like bright red. There was a monkey-ish looking being hovering near the ceiling with a drum, and there were other characters in the room too which I dont think I got a good look at. I do recall the monkey and its pretty vivid - I saw the face and all, and I internally screamed and went back under the covers. I would have ran out of the room, but hallway was red too. Under my covers my eyes were closed tightly shut, I was shivering, and for a while I was dead still. When nothing was touching me, and I wasn’t hearing anything, I opened my eyes slightly to see if I could see light coming through the covers, but it was dark. I took one peek from under my blanket - room totally dark, and no monkeys. I just closed my eyes again, kept myself under the blanket, and at some point I fell asleep. Woke up the next morning and told my mother, and as usual, she didn’t take me seriously.

Never happened again, and yeah it could have been a dream, but I was definitely awake when it happened.

Re: Jinn stories/encounters

It hasn't happened with me personally but my dad told me when he was in his teens he had a couple of encounters. In Pakistan, we live towards the mountain areas and well at the time most of the houses were far away from each other. My dad's sister was building a house and he had to sleep over(apparently people steal buidling supplies lol) but it was quite far. Anyway, he said he slept in one of the rooms with his friend, and there was no electricity in the house. Towards midnight he felt his bed shaking, and he woke up but went back to sleep. He said then it was shaking even harder and he woke up and turned on the flashlight but no one was there. His friend was sitting in his bed screaming and when he looked around there was blood all over the floor and his arms were covered with deep scratches. He said he then took his friend home because he was screaming.
-My aunt now lives in that house and she also says she sees things. Maybe someone doesnt want them in that house.

that’s scary.

Re: Jinn stories/encounters

Wow. Very interesting.

Another common occurrence which could be Sleep Paralysis or a Jinn encounter. Anyone experience that?

It feels like you're awake, but you're unable to move, you feel like you're yelling at the top of your lungs but there is no sound coming out. Usually lasts for a few moment/minutes, and then you're relieved of it, and all is normal again. It is often associated (in terms of paranormal) to a Jinn encounter; as if the being was sitting on your chest and choking you and thereby keeping you from moving or screaming.

*Tip: Any house in which Surah Baqarah is recited frequently is a no-go zone for Satan. Ultimate protection against Jinns and Satan at night is to recite Surah Kursi before sleeping, for it guards you till morning by the will of Allah (swt).
*
Please share more experiences if you have any....

i felt it like 2 or 3 times in past month but so confuzed

i experienced da sam situation tried to scream but cant

y is dat so??

Re: Jinn stories/encounters

i had a dream a couple of years ago when i was in the stages of being a pious person prayed namaz 5 times a day spent some time during the day reading the quran. Then i dreamed in the dream i was in a mosque the quran was in front of me, the room was bare then a old man came in his back was bent and he was holding a stick in his left hand although when he came in front of me he looked to holding the stick in his right hand and he let the stick open the quran and told me to read, i was reading a few verses when suddenly i had the urge to stop reading as it was not right, my back was burning, i got up and recited qul hu walla ahad , basically asked for alahs help, the whole room just blew up and the old man was gone in a instant.
After the dream i got up shaking, and then i asked my dad for his advice as i told him about my dream, he then asked other learned people, his expanation was that satan came in your dream, and i said i knew that it was satan but why would he come over? And he answered that he come over to you as he see you as valuable to him and he will try to convert you and go to his side, and he told me that how long have you been praying and i said 4 weeks and my father said that son many people pray for many years to get to the first stage, i said what satge is that he said that the stage where walis and sufis like to communicate to angels and you were on the lowest level and satan was there and then yu get to other stages, i still remember this like it happened, then i realise why we all pray that is not just to save us from sinnig but to try and to get close to allah, jinns and angels all see things that we cannot but we are only guided by faith and that why allah always favours us.

Re: Jinn stories/encounters

**Allah has hidden Jinnaat from our view for a purpose and yes they can be nasty but ONLY with Allah's permission and thats why in sura naas Allah tells us to seek HIS refuge from the evil, whispers and superstitions. so, we must NOT ask for help from any other deity.

In most cases, the jin stories are all fabrications and hullecinations and they must seek psychiatric help.

May Allah protect us all from the evils, whispers and superstitions instilled in us by Ins or jins. aameen**

Except for the underlined part of the sentence I do agree with your post.

In essence, these so called encounter do sound like our own figment of imaginations and hallucinations.

For some reason those who believe in these events tend to have more encounters.

Darkness, night time, sleepiness, empty dark house, large empty spaces, trees, and moonlight...all seem to be pre-requisites for these encounters.

A well lit, sunny, hot summer day with people on street and traffic somehow is not usually the essential part of these encounters.

Eyes can only see what mind prepares eyes for them to see.

I had a discussion a while ago with a very educated and scientific person who believed in these encounters and on those people who claim to have Jins in their possession. None of his argument made any sense. These 'Aamils' are there to rob people of their money and play psychic games with naive people.

Anyhow I did not want to interrupt or discourage anyone from sharing the experiences here.

Re: Jinn stories/encounters

^There is truth to what you're saying.

But, let me ask you this. Do you think the Jinns do not exist or encounters that people have are not genuine at all? Because there are instances where such encounters are infact genuine and not just a mind trick..

Amazing stories.

I can only say this, Jinns are fact according to the Holy Quran. But in Arabic Jinn could mean anything hidden from the human eyesight. Muffassir think that this is what Holly Quran is referring to as Jinns.

Amazing stories nevertheless.

Honestly speaking:

I do not know if these encounters are really true.

If the question is about if Jinns are present or not. Then if I claim to believe on scripture then I must believe in existence of Jinns. That's the only reason I would believe in their 'existence'. No personal encounter, observation or experience.

But believing in these kind of encounters and those people who claim to have Jinns in their possession is a separate issue which I have no reason to believe on them.

I still think, many of diseases of mind are misdiagnosed as being related to Jinns or possession of Jinns.
We must realize that mind and brain is a very fascinating organ in the body. It can make one believe anything.

In the dark, a rope looks like a snake!

Aside from these encounters:

Young or unmarried girls for a long time and possessing jinns is one of the common scenario. I know these girls suffering from depression and melancholy and they are taken to these Peer Sahab or Aamils who behind the curtain do whatever they want and call them to be possessed by Jinns.

These Aamils claim they have Jinns in their control. Hummm. Funny isn't it?
So jinns are like goat or sheep?

Naive people get impressed by these people reciting Quranic verses and start believing them to be all knowing and powerful to change the destiny of so many human being.

Outside these places these Aamils have their 'karkuns' / 'gurgay' (workers) and their job is to spot the needy and vulnerable people and some act as if they are friends from no where. They ask few questions from these desperate people and later the information gets to the real 'Aamil'. Who during the encounter says:

Hummm....My Jinn tells me you are worried about your husband! He is bad, he pushed you last night didn't he?
And the woman says: You are all knowing Peer Sahab!" Tell your Jinn to do something about my problems".......... The Aamil now has not only the fake jinn in possession but this woman too!

These people are also very experienced in face reading.

The thread s very good and informative however to know what is out there in this regard. Again I apologize if I interrupted the flow here.

Re: Jinn stories/encounters

You have a good reason to be doubtful; i don't blame you. Some people tend to exaggerate the details. But i must say that often and many of the told encounters are infact true (may not be to the extent they're told, but they are.)

And no reason to apologize friend, it's a good thing to exchange various p.o.v's so we can learn from each other.

Thanks a bunch. :-)

Re: Jinn stories/encounters

A couple days ago, my husband returned from work and parked his car outside. As he was walking up to the front door, he could feel the fragrance of women’s perfume around a tree right outside our home. SO he came in and asked me if I had been spraying my perfumes outside the house . The smell wasn’t inside the house at all but limited to the tree which has no flowers or buds otherwise. And it was a bright sunny afternoon. We had no guests all day. I went outside and smelled tit as well. It was just at that one spot  Lovely smell!

So, do you think a jinn was sitting in that tree :bummer:??? Hubby invited him for iftaari :smack:.

Re: Jinn stories/encounters

well i just remember seeing this tall thing wearing a white khanzu(the white long robe worn by arabs)..i was 8 or somthing at the time and had just entered the kitchen and there 'it' was..i didnt have a look at the face(if it had one) or anything...but it sure did look like a man...i know i was not dreaming or anything..
and there's this story and has been experienced by many including one of my friends, ther are many jinns in zanzibar which is an island and part of tanzania, east africa...and people have actually seen them although they are what they say muslim jinns as it's said they never harm a kind muslims.
