Mohammad Anwar, Chief Organiser of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) for the United Kingdom and Europe has strongly condemned the demonstration of Jama’t Islami women against Ms. Asma Jahangir, a human rights advocate and a special rapporteur of the Human Rights Commission of the United Nations.
In his statement, he said that the **Jama’t Islami women should in fact, protest against their own “Ameer” Qazi Hussain Ahmed, who is playing the role of the hypocrites of “Masjid-e-Zarrar” instead of Asma Jahangir. “On one hand, Qazi Hussain Ahmed conditioning the innocent citizens and youth, pitch them against the Indian forces in the name of Kashmir and having them martyred for the glory of Islam while on the other, he sends his own children (own flesh and blood) to the United States for higher education instead of Kashmir” **Anwar stated.
Mohammad Anwar questioned that is United States an Islamic state, if not, then why Asma Jahangir’s visit to India has been perceived as a sin and permanent residency of Qazi Hussain Ahmed’s children in the United States virtuous? He further questioned, is the United States upholder of Islamic culture and traditions that Qazi Hussain Ahmed does not only feel virtuous in sending his children there but also takes pride? He emphasised that India is a non-Islamic states and similarly the United States, and if visualised the American tradition and culture is more averse to Islamic culture and tradition. Therefore, Jama’t-e- Islami women demonstration against a human rights advocate and not against the double standard and hypocrisy of their own “Ameer” seems implausible.
Mohammad Anwar further commented that the Jama’t-e-Islami women never protested against frequent visits of a prominent Pakistani figure Mr Niaz A Naik to India, who is involved in “Track Two” diplomacy. Similarly, the Jama’t-e-Islami women never held any demonstration against placing of a kiss on the cheek of the daughter of a Pakistani delegation visiting India by a member of the Indian delegate which is a testimony of duplicity and hypocrisy of Jama’t-e-Islami and its “Ameer”. He further asked as to why the Jama’t-e-Islami women do not see the barbarism and atrocities of their own Muslim Pakistani Army, Para-Military Rangers and Police who are continually unleashing reign of terror against the Mohajir nation since 19th. June 1992? He said that during eight years of the state operation, the army, rangers and police have desecrated the honour of thousands of Mohajir mothers, sisters and daughters. He questioned whether the Jama’t-e-Islami women consider those act of desecration by the Pakistani army, rangers and police right because they are Muslims? He enquired whether Islam permits such abhorrent acts?
Mohammad Anwar stated that why Jama’t-e-Islami women have never given a thought on the plight of mothers, sisters and daughters who are stranded in sixty-six (66) Red Cross Camps in Bangladesh for the past thirty years. He further said that why as Muslims, the Jama’t-e-Islami women have ever held demonstrations demanding their repatriation to Pakistan, their homeland? He further said that similarly Jama’t-e-Islami women were silent on the desecration of the honour of more than two hundred thousand of Muslim women in the former East Pakistan (Bangladesh) and never held any demonstration on the desecration of the honour of Muslim Bengali women.
Mohammad Anwar stated that people are fully aware of the **policy of duplicity and hypocrisy of Jama’t-e-Islami and its “Ameer”. If Jama’t-e-Islami women truly believe in the glory and stability of Islam then they should hold demonstrations against their own and their “Ameer’s” policies of double standards and hypocrisy instead of demonstrating against others, particularly on befooling the youth on conditioning children of other people for Jihad instead of his own. Finally, he said that Qazi Hussain Ahmed should brain wash his own children for Jihad instead of others. **
