I think im one of those rare people who dont actually like jhoomars because i dont like the fact they arent symmetrical ( yes im a bit weird)
I much prefer matha pattis because I think they are more elegant and regal.
What do you think?

Kind of agree with you here. I think jhoomars are pretty in their own way and look lovely but I can't imagine wearing one myself. Would much prefer a matha patti.

Some people just don't have the forehead for a matha patti just as some girls don't want all of their fully back on their wedding day. Like i know for me a side part suits me, a part down the middle much less a hairstyle with all my hair pulled away from my face doesn't suit my facial structure. so in that case a jhoomer works out better.
Also my best friend is gorgeous mashallah but on her wedding day she went with a thick matha patti and she didn't have the forehead for it....had she gone with a simpler or thinner one it would have worked out fine. now have you ever heard of a girl that picked the wrong type of jhoomer? not really... a bad jhoomer doesn't really change much of the look of a bad where as a bad matha patti does so there's definitely more of a risk when you go that route. I do find them amazing beautiful however and more power to the girls that can rock them. There just are more ways to mess it up than to look good in it so i'd consider those things when purchasing one.

Both look nice depending on what you select and how you wear it.
Unfortunately not every face can carry of a matha pathi where as in there are no such issues with the jhoomar. So far i am more inclined on a matha pati for myself since i have tried it on and it looks nice but you never know. When you get to selecting your bridal set, it might be such which would accomodate a jhoomar better than a matha patti so it would depend on that too.

heavy matha patti can easily look tacky..select the delecate one and one which suits ur face :)

m so confused ppl!! I have a big forehead to b frank! but wen I tried maatha patti in the store it looked really nice but on the other hand, m scared tht i wod look bald or something :(

I think some jhoomers can be just as over powering as a heavy matha patti. I know I've seen some brides where the jhoomer is so heavy and big that it does seem overly asymmetrical.
That said, I think it depends on the the facial structure of the person, and how big and heavy either the matha patti or the jhoomer is. I think both as very beautiful but both can look tacky if over done.

Rule of Thumb--->Go for a Matha Patti if and only if You have a big and prominent forehead!!

Also, the thing this bride’s wearing seems like a necklace worn as head jewellery & not a proper teeka/ mathapati .. a lot of brides wear necklaces like that
