Re: Fate of Syria?
We will come to that part of history. Kindly explain me reasons, contexts, definitions of this hadith…
the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The Hour [the Day of Judgement] will not begin until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them. A Jew will hide behind a rock or a tree, and the rock or tree will say, ‘O Muslim, O slave of Allaah! There is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!’ – except for the gharqad (box thorn), for it is one of the trees of the Jews.” (Reported by Muslim, 2922).
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
anjjan, again nice try. go read your history books, better yet, talk to an educated jew, he/she will tell you that most prosperous time for jews was under the rules of Muslims. I am not going to debate Hadiths with you or with any one else. I will speak about Quran and give you a refrence if I can. Other than that...try answering the question.

Dear Kaleem, Minime, and here you are, kindly have patience and read the complete article, study and analyze it…
The Myth of Islamic Tolerance
Muslim “protection” of Christians and Jews has actually been oppression
Here are a few excerpts….this is so far background….
Before the twentieth century, the myth of Islamic tolerance had no currency. It is largely a modern creation. The West’s obfuscation was a result of the political and cultural difficulties of colonialism. France had North Africa, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Syria, and Lebanon after World War I. England had a huge Islamic population in India and also in Egypt and Sudan, Iraq and Palestine. They didn’t want to confront this population. They didn’t want to protect the Christian minorities in these lands because they wanted to have an economically beneficial pro-Arab, pro-Islamic policy.
They didn’t want to protect the Christians. They told them, You have to integrate into the Islamic environment; we are no longer protecting you. Therefore, for political, strategic, and economic reasons-mostly related to oil in the Middle East-the Western colonial powers didn’t want to antagonize the Muslim countries. As a result, they developed a whole literature praising Islamic tolerance toward Jews and Christians.
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
anjjan, do us a favor and read a book or tow. It is on the Internet and it must be true. I have spoken to a Rabai here in Houston who I consider more eductaed than you and me and he confirmed to me what I wrote before. So please instead of Googling stuff up. Read some history books about that era and than get a life.
That crap you posted up there is one person's opinion...that even from a christian site.
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
The bottom line is that muslims, even in minority think that they should be masters because of some illogical system ordained by their god. When they find themselves not in poer, rather than living under the rule of the land, as others are suppose to under their system, they hark back to concepts like jihad. ANd so..we have terrorism from the phillippines to America. Until, they realize that this whole world is a global community and all people the same adn no one religion is better than another...they will continue to feel the pain because this is not the middle ages and the power rests among the other people now and for the next millenium.
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
Anjjan Kaleem is right in post #26. Jews did live in peace in historical times in what was yugoslavia and turkey. "two faces of islam" by rabbi Stephen Schwartz.
My point is that ever since jews landed in Israel in the 20th century the muslims/wahabis have played the religion card against jews and pumped their masses to a point that no muslim country can guarantee safety for the jews. If the process were to bring today about watering down and changing the muslim stance it will take 50 years to change the thinking, but on the same token I dont think Jews will be ruled by Muslims, they are superior to Muslims in every aspect (and this is a fact). Name an invention by muslims recently.
No the jews didn't steal your patents again. Muslim/Ummah should stop bickering and living in medievil times thinking about glorious muslim past and get with the program.
Jews are here to stay and U.S will rule the world. Ameen
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
In the early years of the Islamic conquest, the “tribute” (or jizya), paid as a yearly poll tax, symbolized the subordination of the dhimmi. Later, the inferior status of Jews and Christians was reinforced through a series of regulations that governed the behavior of the dhimmi. Dhimmis, on pain of death, were forbidden to mock or criticize the Koran, Islam or Muhammad, to proselytize among Muslims or to touch a Muslim woman (though a Muslim man could take a non*Muslim as a wife).
Dhimmis were excluded from public office and armed service, and were forbidden to bear arms. They were not allowed to ride horses or camels, to build synagogues or churches taller than mosques, to construct houses higher than those of Muslims or to drink wine in public. They were not allowed to pray or mourn in loud voices-as that might offend the Muslims. The dhimmi had to show public deference toward Muslims-always yielding them the center of the road. The dhimmi was not allowed to give evidence in court against a Muslim, and his oath was unacceptable in an Islamic court. To defend himself, the dhimmi would have to purchase Muslim witnesses at great expense. This left the dhimmi with little legal recourse when harmed by a Muslim.(4)
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
Verizon, no one challenged the myth created by Muslims about Jews and Christians under Islamic rule throughout centuries, and the myth is repeated thousands of time that it became truth.
It is a very serious point. History without logic has no value. How many Muslims really believe that many Islamic rulers were very intolerant in India? Muslims have written their own history of thorough and complete tolerance towards non-Muslims in India.
But when I look at many old Mosques and Islamic structures, I need know survey or digging to understand how they are raised.

Dear Kaleem, I request you to study and analyze the article with patience and not accept or refuse it in your usual manner. Again I repeat that history without logic is a mere bunch of useless papers.
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
^ Yep and your version of history based on an Internet article written by a christian is the true version. All those people who wrote books and even non Muslims included were wrong and they wrote their own history but lo and behold here comes Mr. Anjjan with the truth by googling useless stuff on the Internet.
No thanks Anjaan, I have better things to do in life than read that piece of crap article you posted up there. You can keep saying that Muslims have been intolerant throughout history and maybe it will become the truth.Afterall that is the logic you used to disprove history. I am sure it will work this time too.
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
Dear Kaleem, mostely you reject even five year old history if it is not in your favor, and here you want us to accept centuries old myth, for a simple reason that it has been repeated day and night.
No Sir, time has changed. You must fight to ban internet.
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
Show me where I have rejected five year old history? Internet is a useful tool for those who know how to reason. Not everything posted on the Internet forums and articles is true. Need an example, look at your posts. :)
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
Dear Kaleem, sometimes you accept everything in person, sometimes in general as per your choice, so I edit my post a little,

Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
Ok, so tell me which history has the muslims in general have rejected (5 yrs old)? By you calling it a myth is not going to make it one. It will remain history as told by the scholars of that time and beyond.
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
History lessons do not equate to truth Kaleemy.
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
UTD, so you disagree that Jews had there most prosperous time (not counting today) under the muslim rulers?
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
Dear Kaleem, here are some incidents took place in last five years. You can easily find Islamic literature making day and night efforts proving that all were stage managed…..
You have a benefit in the so-called investigations of all these incidents. The semi-educated media and so-called human right organizations start fuelling the gossips of Islamic literature, giving you an upper hand, nothing wrong that today you believe in the centuries old myths of Islamic tolerance ….
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
I disagree. It was under biblical ISrael. Kingdoms of David and Solomon.
Re: Jewish/Muslim relations through history - Split from Fate of Syria
Oye is your name UTD? j/k. Ok so you believe otherwise. Let me google some stuff up like anjaan and I will be back with some interesting "myths".
Anjjan, lets look at the list you provided.
1. 1999, Indian plane hijacked to Kandhar.
2 2001, 9/11, USA.
3. 2001, Attack on Indian parliament.
4. 2002, Godhra
5. 2002, Nord-OST, Theater hijacked at Moscow.
6. 2004, Beslan.
These incidents that you lised were carried out by terrorists ..who are lost souls and claim to be Muslims. Let me ask you, how many innocent people were killed in Gujrat in India? How many has the Indian Army killed in occupied Kashmir?
My friend, your "mythical history" can be used to negate your claims.
