In PK ur always expected to wear a certain amt of jewelry…esp after ur married. I needed to get some earrings…cuz I have rings and a chain to wear at all times…now i just need earrings to wear most of the time or all of the time…kiyoon kay aapkay “kaan khali nahi lag nay chaye”…I wanted to get something kind of like (pics below) cuz my ears tend to get all red and my ears can’t stand to wear earrings 24/7 esp the heavy kinds so i wanted something light but nice. Do u think I should get earrings from America or PK?
These are diamond and I really like this style cuz i am not much into other type of tops that ppl in PK suggest to wear.
you can find this stuff over in P-land as well. here you might be able to find stuff that is under 10 cts, so it could be lighter. though white gold is very in right now, i'm not too sure if they make anything that is under 22 cts. oh, and diamond jewellery is very common as well.
i prefer in america bcz in pak they are not very faithful in terms of jewlllery soo get ur stuff made in dubai and let them know u'r going to uk/ america then they tend to do every thing perfect otherwise if they fink u'r going to pak then they tend to try their luck aswell :')
I wish I could get jewelery made in dubai....that would be really nice....but I am only going to PK..so I only have options here and in PK. My mom keeps telling me to get it from PK cuz the jewelry stores here have only 14kt gold....does that make much of a difference???? I don't think it should.

Get jelwery from america coz u know it will be the real thing. You cant tell in pak. Its nice to get diamond earrings to wear in america but everyone in pakistan just thinks they are fake. i bought all my jelwery from america and they have 22 & 24kt gold here.
i haven't personally bought anything, but have went jewellery shopping with the girls. so i know the diff between the jewellery and the styles and what not. diamond jewellery here in Canada/US costs much more than back in P-land, ie is a piece of jewellery at say Sears, you can find the same thing in P-land for the same price, but the diamond here are usually yellow for that price, while the diamonds there are usually white.
yeah there is a risk, but go to a reputable jeweller, preferably someone who has had their shop for atleast 15 years. don't hesitate to take the piece of jewellery to another jeweller, and ask them to inspect it. that way you'll know who's "thagging"
cutie: believe it or not, 20's style and imperial (victorain) style jewellery is really in right now. look at HSY's new jewellery collection and you'll get an idea. so, like i mentioned before, diamonds and white gold is really in.
hey guys do stones mean anything??? Like someone wearing ruby or emerald....etc.....can any one wear them??? Cuz I have heard of myths that some stones aren't fit for everyone is that true??? Its from PK culture of course that I heard it from....plz give feedback...
Y don't u just wear what makes you comfortalbe? why do you have to go by every little rule that ppl tell you? If you like gold, wear gold, if you like stones and colorful beads, wear those.. heck if u dont like tow ear jewelry period than don't .
How abt stones are they more expensive in America or in PK? Like Ruby’s and stuff…
How do u know if the diamonds there r real or not??? And ultimately I will be living in America and they have warranties that if the diamond gets chipped or something happens to the stone they will replace it. ..so now i am confused…

Hun if you like wering earrings go ahead and go all out for special occasions..but if they bother u esp as everyday wear then screw what they say.. paki ppl are not very creative or individualistic :)

lahore has a couple of good jewellers. unfortunately, i don't remmeber the names of them right now. i think one of them is libra, another is sonu. both are in liberty market. i know of them because my mum has shopped there, and i've been going to sonu since i was a baby. (so u can imagine they have been around for ages).
i know they don't give you any special kind of certificate to guarantee that the stone wont come off. that is something you do on your own part as a consumer. check out the fittings of the stones, and what kind of settings there are, that is, the hooked settings are better than the non hooked settings. also, like i mentioned, don't hesitate to take the piece of jewellery to another shop. the shops are always in competetion, so if there is something fake, they will tell you so.

I went to the indian stores today to look for stuff....and they r so expensive....sometimes i feel like the jewelery the indian jewelers have is over priced....they will say oh this cost $100 and before u leave they will bring it down to $70 or even less.....i hate bargaining....esp in America.....cuz its like i don't know the actual value of the product and don't know if i am getting robbed....
oh sorry for not mentioning. sonu and libra are both in liberty market. sonu is right next to habib bank. i'm not sure if libra is in the same plaza or not.
the indian jewellers here say the stuff is from dubai, and the prices are just horrible. the designs are really, really oldish at the stores atleast. on the other hand, the designs are much more modern now in pakistan.
also, umm gold is kinda high right now. just get an estimate of the gold prices right now, and from their look at the prices of the jewellery.
ooh please!!! oh course if u buy jewllery from trusted and brand name stores … and also since more than a decade gold jewl. is stamped .. so there is no problem buying jew. from pk.. what do u think only angles do biz in america??? there are more chances of fakes in america than pk even if u buy sometime (especially when it comes to stones) from such names as “sears , macys , strawbridges etc.” unless u r not an expert of gems & gold… if u bought something from kmart type stores then only god help u!!! most of stores even the trusted ones don’t give any garuntee unless the stuff is certified from american gem society… (and that affects on stuff starting from above $2000 for 1/2 or 1/3 ct diamond or any other gem) .. most of the stuff comes from latin america or east asia … so … there is no garuntee of their authenticity… it depends whom u meet.. those who know the value they don’t think it fake… and what do u think in pk people don’t wear diamonds or other expensive gems???
